Bishop Emiaso says the church is sick, needs divine healing

The presiding bishop and head of mission, Gospel Church of Christ (GCC) worldwide, Bishop Eric Emiaso has charged Christians to be Christlike and resist every form of evil in the face of many challenges that has characterizes the nation, especially as the country is going through many turbulent times, rather, Christians should continue to pray and have absolute faith in God and in His word.
Bishop Emiaso stated this during the annual convention of the 51 years old church and one year anniversary of his inauguration as the presiding bishop, held at the headquarters in Lagos.

He urged Christians to be practical and responsible with obedience to the word of God through the Holy Spirit, as the only key to experience desired flourishing in Christ. He emphasized that flourishing in Christ is a divine provisional need to live a successful life and it is encompassing, covering every area of life.
While lamenting on the lives and destinies that are stagnant that are not flourishing as they should, due to many factors, especially disobedient and rebellion to the word of God, he challenged Christians to anchor their lives and services on the word of God and not social activities that has no impact on their spiritual growth and development.

Bishop Emiaso, whose goal is to win more souls, for Christ, had encouraged women development in the church and decry recent developments, where some pastors are reportedly involved in rapping, adultery, fraud and other vices that diminish the office and calling of a pastor. He attributed them to satanic agents who masquerade into the ministry through the window and back doors without proper spiritual upbringing, but with the motive and intention of misleading people in the ministry.
“Ministry or ministerial works are not career, they are callings with divine induction, but many see it the other way round and abuse it, the church is sick, fills with unrighteous characters that have no purpose of being in the ministry than for personal satisfaction and it will require divine intervention of Jesus Christ, the owner of the church to heal the church” he noted.
Speaking on Nigeria, he said, “In a few month, Nigesria will be celebrating 59 years of independence and the reason we are still in self afflicted bondage as a nation is because of manmade hindrances that has plague our national growth and development. No doubt, the flourishing of Nigeria is spiritual and you cannot treat spiritual matters with physical, until Nigeria as a nation go back to God, we will continue in all manners of situation”.
He noted that children of God should not be deceived by noise making self acclaimed prophets, who prophecise falsehood to deceive gullible Nigerians and enriched themselves for self edification and political gratification.

While shedding more light on the church convention, Bishop Emiaso said, the essence of the convention has Bishop Andy Ogbu, Apostle Leslie Nsame from Cameroon and Bishop Sam Oniekoro with others as guest speakers, is largely to congregate members of the church across the country with other participants to empower, encourage and expose them to the knowledge of further exercising their divine right to flourishing in Christ spiritually, physically and otherwise in every endeavours of life and ministry.
Other activities during the 4 day convention include ordination of ministers and retirement of Bishop Anthony Emeghara and Rev. Dr. Duke Atima, who have served the church meritoriously in many capacities.

Cleric’s wife docked for allegedly burying live pig

A 33-year-old cleric’s wife, Blessing Okechukwu, who allegedly buried a live pig in her husband’s church compound, on Tuesday appeared in an Ajegunle Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.

The police charged Okechukwu, who resides in Satelite town area of Lagos with three counts of conspiracy, breach of peace and animal cruelty.

The Prosecution Counsel, Insp. S.I. Bassey told the court that the defendant committed the offence at 1.40 a.m. on Sept. 3, at the National bank estate, Satelite town, Lagos.

He alleged that the defendant, and her husband, who was the senior pastor of License of Healing Deliverance Mission, were caught burying a live pig in the church compound.

Bassey told the court that he had witnesses who saw the defendant in the act and picture evidence of the pig when the police dug it up.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 411, 168 (d) and 394 (1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.(Revised)

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Sections 168 and 394 both stipulates a three-month jail term each for the offence of breach of peace and animal cruelty respectively, while 411 carries two-years for conspiracy.

The Magistrate, Mrs Ramot Ayilara, admitted the the defendant to bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.

She ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed, with address verified by the court.

Ayilara adjourned the case until Sept. 19 for mention.

Police arrest prophet for killing Imo graduate

The operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Imo State Police Command have arrested a prophet, Michael Mbonu, for allegedly killing one Princewill Ezeji.

The state Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Ladodo, said that apart from the prophet, four other suspects were arrested by the SARS operatives for allegedly murdering the graduate of philosophy.

He disclosed that the arrest of the suspect was as a result of digital analysis led by the SARS commander, Godfrey Victor.

He said that the deceased had gone missing after buying a Lexus vehicle.

He said, “SARS operatives led by the commander, Godfrey Victor, swung into action on receipt of a complaint of a missing person.

“Five persons were subsequently arrested. They are, Mbonu Michael, a 27-Year-old prophet, Kingsley Udemba, 24, Nwogu Anslem  59, Blessing Michael, 25, and Chidinma Godwin, 27.

“It is important to note that on August 3, the deceased, Princewill Eleji, a graduate of Philosophy bought a Lexus vehicle and went to see his Prophet, Michael Mbuno.

“From that date the victim was nowhere to be seen. While that was going on, one Kingsley Udemba, a close friend showed up and claimed that because the victim defrauded him was the reason he was missing.

“The parents of the missing person had to raise N960,000 and paid Kinsley Udemba, yet the boy was not released. Upon investigation, and thorough digital analysis, though Kingsley collected the ransom as agreed but had no knowledge about the victim’s whereabouts.

“The prophet, a family friend who was following the parents to look for Princewill was indicted. On interrogation, he confessed to the crime. He took operatives to see the decomposing corpse of the victim. The victim’s car, telephone and sim card were recovered. Charms, a Bible were also recovered.”

Man lands in serious trouble after stealing church offering in Benin

An Oredo Special Grade Magistrates’ Court sitting in Benin, on Thursday, sentenced one Henry Godspower to three months imprisonment for stealing church offerings.

Mr Godspower was alleged to have broken into the Greater Liberation Ministry Church located at James Watt road in Benin City to carry out the act.

He, however, was apprehended and consequently arraigned in court by the police on a two-count charge of stealing and felony.

He pleaded guilty to the charges.

The police prosecutor, Patrick Agbonifo, informed the court that the convict stole the sum of N3,520 from the church.

He said the offences were punishable under Sections 415 and 390 of the Criminal Code, Cap 48, Vol 11, Laws of the Defunct Bendel now applicable to Edo State.

The presiding magistrate, Ivie Akhere, sentenced Mr Godspower to three months imprisonment without an option of fine.

Student escapes death for attempting 41-days fast, Hospitalised

A student of Ebonyi State University (EBSU) identified as Ikechukwu Oke, has been escaped death and has been hospitalised after his failed attempts to fast for 41-days.

According to Naija News report, Oke decided to willingly engage himself in the fast over the challenges his family was going through.

He was hospitalized when he collapsed as a result of malnutrition.

It was gathered that Oke lost so much weight as a result of the fast and was placed on medication and drips to help him recover.

While giving a detailed report on how he was admitted, a friend and roomate to Oke, Christian Nwaokpa said;“He is from Ebiaji in Ezza North LGA. It is his nature.

“As it stands now, men of goodwill and ambassadors are on the way conveying him to the Accident and Emergency Ward in Federal Teaching Hospital in Abakaliki.”

Sacked workers protest Okowa’s automatic job for 14 choristers

The automatic employment granted to 14 choristers by Delta Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, to mark the 28th anniversary of the state’s creation, has triggered crisis among some sacked workers.

Over 3,000 sacked workers, including the 650 Delta Line Transport Company staff, under the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees and the 3,000 members of the Association that was suspended in 2015 have cried foul.

The governor had, during an inter-denominational thanksgiving service to mark the anniversary at the Government House, Asaba, announced the automatic employment to 14 distinguished choristers.

However, chairman of the suspended civil servants, Obus Regha, on Wednesday expressed shock over the automatic employment, saying that the state government had earlier advertised job vacancies in the agricultural sector and had ignored his campaign promises to reabsorb the sacked workers.

“He granted automatic employment to his church members and ignored our suffering.

“We renewed our agitation for reinstatement last week. Instead of His Excellency to consider us for re-absorption as he promised during his re-election campaign, he went ahead to announce automatic job slots for people who never applied for it.

“He deceived us. We will take our destiny in our hands on this matter because we are Deltans, and we were recruited on merit,” Regha said.

One of the sacked Delta Line cashiers, Mrs. Patricia Okonkwo, told our Correspondent that their full entitlements, including their three-month in lieu of notice and other total terminal benefits are yet to be paid.

“Those who served the state meritoriously and were forced out of service without reaching retirement age deserve respect,” Okonkwo said.

COZA rape: Abuja police detain Pastor Fatoyinbo

The embattled Senior Pastor and founder of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) Biodun Fatoyinbo, is currently being detained at the Nigerian Police Force Headquarters in Abuja after he surrendered himself for questioning over rape allegations levelled against him by Mrs. Busola Dakolo.

Mrs Dakolo, wife of Nigeria’s inspirational singer Timi Dakolo had accused Fatoyinbo of raping her 20 years ago in Ilorin, Kwara State when she was still 16 years old. Following protests that greeted the allegation, Fatoyinbo was forced to step aside but later returned to the pulpit.

Fatoyinbo is being interrogated at Force Criminal Investigation Division (FCID) headquarters in Abuja by a team of four officers led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Adaku Uche Anya. The police have confirmed the ongoing interrogation, which came after the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, (PFN), said the embattled Senior COZA Pastor refused to appear before its panel investigating the rape allegation against him. The PFN said because he refused to appear before the panel, the probe had been declared inconclusive.



According to PFN National Publicity Secretary, Bishop Emma Isong, who spoke with newsmen in Lagos on Thursday, Busola and her husband, Timi Dakolo appeared before the panel while Fatoyinbo did not.



Recall that the wife of sensational soul singer Timi Dakolo, made a shocking revelation in a detailed interview with Chude Jideonwo, a lawyer and journalist on YNaija channel of how the Abuja-based cleric raped her as a teenager.



The viral video report set social media and other online platforms on fire, evoking shock, backlash and criticism from Nigerians, especially the Christian community. However, in his reaction, the embattled preacher posted a statement on his Instagram page denying the allegation, adding that he had never rape a woman all his life.



In the statement addressed from the ‘Office of the Senior Pastor’, Fatoyinbo described the allegation as a false and baseless claim targeted at destroying his reputation and that of his church. “I have never in my life raped anybody even as an unbeliever and I am absolutely innocent of this.” the statement reads in part.



In 2013, the clergy popularly called “Gucci Pastor”, because of his flamboyant fashion style, was also entangled in an allegation of infidelity with one Ese Walter, a former member of the church.

Evangelist caught allegedly stealing phones while preaching in a phone shop

According to reports, a self-acclaimed evangelist identified as Mr. Akinjide Durojaiye was caught and beaten for allegedly stealing two new mobile phones while he was preaching in a shop in Ibadan.

Mr Akinjide Durojaiye, 49, was allegedly caught stealing two new mobile phones from a shop he preached at. The Evangelist at Dominion Assembly in Ilare-Ijesa area of Osun state, claimed the “spirit” directed him to preach to the people at a phone shop in Femi Johnson Building located at Dugbe area of Ibadan.

He was said to have left the shop with two phones valued at N70,000. He hid them in a shop within the complex when chased but eventually got busted by an attendant at the shop. The phones were retrieved from him by the mob that manhandled him.

Confessing to the crime, Durojaiye blamed it all on the devil as he disclosed that he stole to raise money to offset the medical bill of his 7-year-old son who jumped down from a 2-storey building.

The father of four who was released after some persons intervened, further revealed that his wife ‘abandoned’ the kids with him after they got divorced.

‘Indian Metaphysical Master’ who prepares charms for Pastors: Nigerians are gullible

Okah Raphael Ekechi, aka Raghdra Anandra, a 100 Level undergraduate of the Open University, studying Law, has narrated how he conned many Nigerians of millions of naira by preparing fake charms for them to perform miracles in churches, win elections and get rich quick, among other charms.

The self-acclaimed Indian Metaphysical Master, 50, who claims to be an online trained metaphysical master, allegedly operates between Lagos and Ogun States. Ekechi was arrested by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team, Ogun State Annex. According to police, before his arrest, the suspect has swindled thousands of Nigerians of millions of naira. To ensure they didn’t dash to report him to the police for fraud, Ekechi usually threatens that any victim, who dares to report him, would die within three to seven days. The police disclosed that Ekechi allegedly used to prepare charms for protection, business boom, do as I say, win big contracts, win betting, initiation into mysticism, win rich love, especially for gold diggers, getting successful marriage, win election, getting anointing and powers to perform miracle, among other charms. While fielding questions from journalists, Ekechi said: “Let me tell you two things that made me to become a fraudster. First, I used to sell electrical parts at Alaba International. One day, I traveled to Accra, Ghana, and customs operatives seized my goods. It disorganised me. It was during the military era. I lost about N3million. I was frustrated and couldn’t think of how to raise money to help myself. It was in that horrible state of idleness that I decided to become a fraudster. “My second reason is that I found out that some Nigerians are gullible to get rich quick. I decided to use my brain instead of gun to get what I wanted. I lied to all my clients or should I call them victims? I lied to them that I had power, and that I learnt Metaphysical Science from Indian university. That was how I became a fraudster. I have sold sachet water and was making N400 daily. I have followed people who sell drugs in open market with loudspeakers. These drug sellers used to give me N500 after sales. It was the activities of these fake drugs sellers that helped to sharpen my mind.” Ekechi’s crime finally caught up with him after one of his victims, Emmanuel Ekpe, dared his death threats and went to report the matter to the police. Ekpe on July 8, 2019 petition the IGP, Mohammed Adamu. The IGP instructed the Technical Intelligence Unit and IRT, led by a Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, to find and arrest Ekechi. Ekechi was tracked to his hideout at Alagbado area of Lagos State and arrested. Ekechi, married with four children said: “I am a holder of Senior Secondary School Certificate, but I am now with Open University, 100Level, studying Law. I started this business by pasting posters on the road with Ragen Hindu Monk Temple. I boldly wrote an inscription on the posters, stating that people’s desires could be achieved whenever they visited my temple. I charged N7,700 for consultation form, N500,000 for power, N2,000,000.00 to see my Master General and N1,000,000.00 to win contract. I believe in the Bible; I believe that the Bible is supreme. I don’t mention Bible because I know that what I was doing was not genuine. You cannot joke with the Bible or Koran.” Recounting how he met Ekpe, who became his nemesis, Ekechi said: “Emmanuel came to my office and complained that the work I did for him was not genuine; that it didn’t work. He wanted his business to boom and also wanted power and ability to pray for people and the prayer would work. I charged him N167,000, but he deposited N57,000, promising to pay the balance in a months’ time. I insisted that he must pay the complete money before the charm would work. I told him that he couldn’t cheat the spirit. Unfortunately, it still didn’t work for him. “When I told him how people like him ran away to avoid the wrath of the mystic gods, I thought that he would do the same, not knowing that he had gone to report me to IRT. I plead for forgiveness. I will not defraud people again.” Narrating his side of the story, Ekpe (36), a businessman, married, with three children, who deal in fairly used clothes, said: “When my business crumbled, I became desperate, looking for what to do to revive it. I tried to secure loan from many places, but failed.” Ekpe added: “While wandering about, I saw his poster, stating that he could boost failing and failed businesses. I called him on phone, he directed me to take a motorbike to Kola bus stop, Alagbado. When I got to AIT Road, I took another motorcycle to Amikonle bus stop, where I met him. He took me to his office, which he uses as his temple. I paid N7,700 for consultation form. I told him that I wanted to revive my business, but that he should count me out if the process involved ritual. “He gave me a ring and I paid him N18,000. He opened a black box and asked me to pick the ring with my left hand. After manipulating the box, I saw a ring and picked it. He said I should do a sacrifice for it to work. He asked me to pay N120,000, but I deposited N80,000. He said I should pay N18,000 for spiritual tax, another N35,000 for sacrifice, bringing the total amount I paid to him to N167,000. I later went to tell him that I didn’t get what I paid for; I asked for a refund. He refused and instead started threatening my life.” When operatives raided Ekechi’s temple, it recovered $3,700 suspected to be counterfeit; Hindu ancient monk temple consultation forms; statue of Shiva, which he claimed was his Master General; Hindu Goddess frame; fake international metaphysical/mystic science university of India certificate, religious books, prayer posters, pink and red robes, among other items.

Prophet TB Joshua reveals why Buhari cannot take Nigeria to ‘Promised Land’

Prophet T.B Joshua, the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), says it is difficult for President Muhammadu Buhari to lead Nigeria to the “promised land” because of the huge problems he inherited from previous administrations.

Naija News understands that the SCOAN General-Overseer who recently visited Israel for his church event tagged the “Nazareth Meeting with TB Joshua,” made this comment in an interview with The Maravi Post recently.

Prophet T.B Joshua said: “Until what they inherited from their past predecessors is no longer burdensome (that is when Nigeria is going to get to the Promised Land).

“Like the issue of (this) administration, the person in power (President Buhari) is still battling with what he inherited, he has not started a new thing.

“Some may continue battling with theirs throughout their tenure.

“It’s like somebody’s father dying and there is a huge debt to settle. You realise that either you denounce that father or carry the responsibility. You begin to pay the debt for his house and other things – and that may take your time and career.

“I think the problem is that we have many leaders, but we fail to take time to develop people’s skills – they have no disciples.

“No one can do it alone, even Jesus Christ knew this and that was why He had disciples.

“But we have leaders without disciples in every area. Not in the political circle alone, but churches too.

“Take your mind back to some late great men of God in Nigeria, how many of them had disciples? Look at the political circle; take your mind back to the olden days – how many of them had disciples?

“It takes time to develop people’s skills, but how many people will do that? You will be persecuted and hated even among the people you are developing.

“Many of them will be Judas and in the process of developing them, they will go out and say all sorts of things against you, they want to bring you down- but at the end of the day, you still see one or two of them that are good.

“Of course, you know what happened to Jesus because He was developing skills, making disciples.

“People are afraid to develop skills because, in the process of developing people’s skills, you look at the repercussion.

“When you weigh the disadvantages and advantages, one would be afraid to go into it – but the future is great because you will live forever if you take time to develop people’s skills and make disciples out of them.”

Continuing, the influential cleric goes scriptural:

“This is what the Bible said. It says – Go ye into the world and make disciples.

“We have leaders without disciples – and no one can go it alone. We need good people, inspired people and informed people to achieve our dreams and objectives – and Jesus knew this,” Prophet T.B Joshua was quoted to have said.

Beautiful lady arrested for fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Lagos Zonal office, has arrested a 32-year-old suspected female fraudster, Loretta Okonkwo, for obtaining money under false pretense.

Loretta Okonkwo, a graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, was arrested on July 19, 2019 in Lagos, following a petition received by the Commission about her fraudulent activities.

The complainant alleged that he invested in Recharge and Make Money Limited, a company belonging to the suspect.

The complainant further alleged that the suspect, however, failed on her promise to offer him a percentage of the proceeds on his investment and also refused to refund him. .

The suspect will soon be arraigned in court.

What will happen to north when Nigeria break-up – Sheikh Gumi

Islamic scholar Dr Ahmad Abubakar Gumi has declared that the North will suffer most compared to other regions when Nigeria disintegrate.

Speaking to The Sun, the prominent cleric stated that after the break-up of Nigeria the Southwest will be relatively stable; Southeast will be stable, but the North will be volatile.

Sheikh Gumi noted that disintegration will be bad for Nigeria because it would result in chaos.

“Let me tell you about the North if there is disintegration. The worst thing any country will like is to have an unstable country as a neighbour,” Gumi said.

“So, Southwest will be relatively stable; Southeast will be stable, but the North will be volatile. How can we contain Boko Haram in the Northeast? No way.

“How can we contain the problem of the herdsmen in the North? We cannot contain them.

“In fact, the little weight the Southwest and Southeast are adding to fight them is what is suppressing them, but if you go and leave us with them we will just eat ourselves and you have a very volatile North and I do not think we will have peace there because the borders are not barbed-wires and there are so many inter-marriages.

“In fact, Nigeria will just be like another Lebanon or Yemen. Nobody can control the North because nobody has a monopoly of power in the North.

“You don’t become so virulent that you end up destroying the northern power by attacking people everywhere not caring who is there. Let me tell you this.

“Nobody is in control of the North now. No Northern politician has that clout to embrace everybody in the North.

“Everybody in the North is with his clique and that is a very dangerous situation for the country. The Southwest is divided into two equal houses and nobody is in control there too, but generally, the people there are not violent.

“They can negotiate and stay in peace. The people of the Southeast seem to understand each other because their own is business. I see it to be more stable even though the Kanu IPOB people are there because generally the population there can understand and negotiate.

“They can only have a population problem if people ask them to go back to their region. But the North? So, you can just imagine.”

EFCC arrests popular female pastor for N25million scam

The anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arrested a popular female pastor in Rivers State for allegedly defrauding the family of one Maxwell Uzuoma.

Pastor Blessing of one of the new generation churches was said to have defrauded the family of about N26million under the false pretence of being a business contractor.

The female clergy was arrested following a petition by the office of the Public Complaint in Rivers State.

The Federal Commissioner, Public Complaints in Rivers state, Marshall Israel who confirmed the development to newsmen, said they decided to forward the petition from the affected family to the EFCC after their own investigation on the matter.

Israel assured that the PCC would continue to work with relevant Government agencies in the fight against administrative injustice and other crimes for the interest of bringing a better society, just as he promised to ensure that justice prevailed in the case.

He said, “The woman claimed to be a Pastor and defrauded the family of twenty-five million naira because they trusted her so much.

“When the family brought the matter to us, even though it falls under the purview of PCC, we decided to transfer the petition to the anti-graft agency, EFCC and we are happy to announce to the public that the woman has been arrested.

“She is currently in the custody of the EFCC and she has made useful confessions.”

The alleged victim of the fraud, Maxwell Uzuoma said Pastor collaborated with a fake prophet who came to them with fake prophecies in a bid to collect more money from the family.

“A few months back the woman, Pastor Blessing (Church name withheld) came up and defrauded my family through false pretence and collected a huge amount of money to the tune of N25.5m.

“In fact, the strategy they used was come into my home and caused confusion by way of giving false prophecy in the name of showing care and concern. Then they get information, transfer it to other prophets and somehow, they will scam you.

“We started suspecting her and then after doing out own little investigation, we found out that she was fraudulent. That was when we decided to raise a petition to the PCC and here we are now. She is with the EFCC,” he said.

Allegedly missing wife of Abuja pastor surfaces, exposes husband as a wife beater

Precious Pada, wife of Pastor Isaac Pada, a clergyman with the Deeper Life Bible Church, Lugbe in Abuja, has refuted claims that she and their four children disappeared from her matrimonial home in Abuja on July 30th.

Pastor Pada granted an interview recently where he alleged that he went to work on July 30th only to return home to an empty house with his wife and four children nowhere in sight. He claimed they had no issues prior to her diappearance and that he has reported the matter to the Lugbe police station.

Mrs Pada has however reached out to LIB and denied her husband's claim. Speaking through her sister, Maryann Ojih, Mrs Pada said she fled their matrimonial home after being subjected to years of domestic violence. According to Mrs Pada, the clergyman is a habitual wife beater who takes delight in beating her since their mrarriage was contracted 9 years ago.

According to Mrs Pada, her clergyman husband beat her up so much in 2017 that she lost a pregnancy. She added that he bundled her to the National Hospital where he works for her to be declared mentally unfit to take care of their children. However, the hospital staff conducted series of test on her and discovered her hubby was lying about her mental state.

Mrs Pada says she is currently in the village with her mother and has no intentions of returning to her hubby. She added that her husband is aware of her location but has chosen to lie that she is missing.

Alleged fake miracles: Pastor petitions IG, demands justice, apology

Warri (Delta) – Pastor Melody Adjija, Founder and General Overseer, Light Way Ministry, Warri, has demanded for justice over the circulation of a scandalous online video against him.

Adina made the demand in a petition signed by his legal adviser, Mr Omens Ogedegbe, which was made available to newsmen on Monday in Warri.

The letter titled “A Case of Extortion, Blackmail and Professional Misconduct by CSP Eyoh Aniete of the Nigeria Police, Delta Command, a Demand for Justice,” was addressed to the Insector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu and others.

In another separate letter addressed to CSP Aniete, former Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ebrumede Police Division, Delta, the clergy called for immediate retraction of the video which he claimed was masterminded by the DPO.

The pastor demanded an unreserved apology from Aniete over the alleged online video purported to have been initiated by him.

“By the said online presentation obviously co-sponsored by CSP Aniete, our client has been brought to public odium and great disrepute before the public and his teeming religious supporters,” his lawyer stated.

Pastor Adjija was seen in an online video where he was confessing to performing fake miracles during interrogation by the police.

The pastor was alleged to had been involved in performing fake miracles by hiring people to deceive the worshipers.

Adija claimed that he was forced to make the said confession under duress by Aniete.

According to him, the video was a calculated attempt to divert his attention from the N3.5 million he gave to the DPO for a church building project.

The pastor said he pledged the N3.5 million for the building of a chalel in Ebrumede Police Division in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.

“The money was for the construction of a project in Ebrumede Police Division, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta where Aniete was then the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) to serve as a chapel.

“Trouble started when our client discovered that the funds had been diverted as no chapel was built nor commenced within the division and started making demands,” his ,lawyer stated.

He alleged that divisional police officer invited him to his office in March to strike a deal over the issue.

Adija further said that he was later released by the police, alleging that there was no official documentation of what transpired at the station.

Reacting, Aniete said that he was not aware of the said N3.5 million.

“I am not aware of three million and five hundred naira; he should go and ask who must have collected the money from him,” he said.(NAN)

Abducted RCCG pastor narrates sad ordeals under captivity and why they were kidnapped

Chiemela Iroha, one of the five persons abducted off the Lagos─Ore Expressway at Ogbere (Ogun State) has given insight into why the “Fulani herdsmen” kidnapped and herded them into the forest.

Iroha and four others – as Chidioze Eluwa, Okoro Ohowukwe, Ndubuizi Owuabueze, and Ibeleji Chidinma ─ were abducted at the J3, Ogbere–Ijebu-Ode (Ogun State) stretch of the Lagos–Ore Expressway, on August 1 and taken to the forest by the abductors.
After three days of intensive search and pressure mounted, both from air and land, on the abductors by the Police, the suspected kidnappers fled their hideout and abandoned the captives in the forest until they were found and rescued by the Police.
Chiemela who is the son of late James Iroha (Gregory stage name) of the New Masquerade fame, a popular television soap opera that is now rested, said they were kidnapped to pay for the cost of bullets expended on a high-profile target which the kidnappers were chasing, but eventually eluded them.
Narrating further, the young Iroha said the abductors “humiliated and tortured” them with any object they could lay their hands on, including marching them on a tortuous and drudgery 30km walk into forests.
The traumatised Iroha said, given the physical appearance and language spoken, he was doubly sure that their abductors were “Fulani herdsmen”.
While their ordeals lasted, he added that they were given no food or water throughout the three days of staying both in the creeks and land.
He recalled that respite began to come their way when the Police surveillance helicopter hovered repeatedly across the area where they were kept, forcing the abductors to abandon them and “took to their heels.”
Iroha, however, lauded the Police, local vigilante group and hunters for the pressure mounted on the kidnapers and which eventually led to their rescue.
The Police Commissioner in Ogun State, Baahir Makama, who showcased the Police exploits over the kidnap incident and successful rescue of the victims, said four suspects were arrested in connection with the abduction.
Makama said contrary to the report that the victims were all pastors of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), only one, a deconness, is a member of RCCG.

Pastor Giwa accuses Adeboye, Bakare for being cause of Nigeria’s problems

The Senior Pastor of the Awaiting The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ Gospel Church, Pastor Adewale Giwa, has declared that Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and Pastor Tunde Bakare of the Latter Rain Assembly were some of the persons who caused problems befalling Nigeria.
He lamented that they were some of the respected clerics who backed President Muhammadu Buhari to emerge as the nation’s leader in 2015.

The cleric, who made this known in a statement on Saturday, entitled “Religious leaders, major obstacle to Nigeria’s progress”, said their silence on different challenges facing the country over the years had further worsened the situation at hands.
Giwa wondered why some religious leaders would leave their respective offices and pay a courtesy call on the President who majority people believed is not doing well.
“If revolution was to be effective in Nigeria, it would commence with some religious leaders who wine and dine with a failed President”, he said.
“There is no need to criticize someone who is doing well. The religious leaders who brought Buhari to power are reading Newspapers everyday, they see what is going on in the country and they have decided to keep mute.
“If all us could unite and ‘call a spade a spade’, maybe we would not have been where we are today.
“Let us face the reality; has the country turned around since President Muhammadu Buhari took over?
“Where is Pastor Enoch Adeboye who supported Buhari to get to power? Where is Pastor Tunde Bakare and where are other men of God who prophesied that Buhari was sent to proffer solutions to Nigeria’s problems?
“Why are they not speaking out? Some of them are now beginning to feel the heat. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them, says Ephesians 11:5.
“God will hold us accountable for anything we do on this earth. I will rather die in speaking the truth than hide behind my finger. It is time for everyone who loves Nigeria to speak up.
“It is our job to speak us against evil and injustice because if we don’t,who will? Some religious leaders have been compromised, they are wining and dining with the devil.
On the arrest of the publisher of the Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, Pastor Giwa, called on the Department of Security Services, DSS to release him with immediate effect.
He noted that those in power could not have allowed the revolution agitation to stand the test of time, he stressed, “We have people with no conscience in power and this has continued to affect the citizens of the country. The solution now is for everyone to pray for the spirit of courage to speak up.
“The body language of the present government is calling for destruction, disharmony and bloodshed. We need to pray for the mercy of God to also see us through.
“I call on the Department of State Services to release Sowore. President Buhari should not forget that Nigeria is bigger than him,” said Giwa.

Adeboye announces abduction of five RCCG pastors

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has announced the kidnap of five pastors of the church.

Adeboye disclosed this on Friday during a talk at the Redeemed Camp along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

According to NAN report, the pastors were on their way to attend the church’s ministers’ conference in Lagos.

Adeboye said the abduction took place on Thursday along the Ijebu-Ode axis. He charged the congregation to pray for the release of the abductees, saying it was the first time such incident was happening.

“As a father, how do you think I should feel to hear that five of my children have been kidnapped while on their way to attend the Ministers Conference?” he asked.
