Claim that two women with one of them identified as Kate Ugwu have been arrested in Igbo-eze local government area of Enugu state after allegedly selling a two-day-old baby for N300, 000. It was gathered that the suspects were on their way to drop of the baby whose mother is reported to be a 13-year-old when they were apprehended. Ugwu confessed that she was contacted by a Ekwutosi Onodu who stated that her 13-year-old sister was a new mother and the child was not needed in their family. Kate stated that she was only helping a friend because the mother of the child was too young to be a mother.
