Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has declared that his administration will assist local government councils in the state to lessen their salary burden, looking at the current plight of council workers in the state.

But in a swift reaction, the Delta state APC has issued a statement signed by the state chairman Prophet Erue which cleared the air that the credit should go to president Buhari who approved the sum of N28billion loan package to 35 states of the federation to enable state governments to pay workers during the Christmas period in fulfillment of his vow to put smiles on the faces of workers during this yuletide. The party noted that, Delta state entitled to N800 million of the loan and it was on account of that Gov.
