Giving birth to a child is one of the most beautiful things on earth but in some cases when couples can't actualise that, they opt for adoption.

It will surprise you to know that even some of the celebrities of our time weren't raised by their biological parents.

Joke Silva
Joke Silva is the latest celebrity to reveal that she was adopted. The gist which is still fresh in air revealed by the veteran Nollywood actress at a conference recently held in Lagos state. She revealed that she was not the biological child of Chief E.A Silva who was the then Babajiro of Lagos and his late wife, Dr Abimbola Silva, reputed to be Nigeria’s first female medical doctor.

“But I got to know years later when I wanted to travel and was looking for my passport where my mum kept it. Since she was not around, I opened the box in her absence and I saw my adoption papers. I never discussed it with my mum because I felt it was something that would hurt her, that was why, it was kept secret from me," she revealed.

Jamie Foxx

The famous musician and actor, Jamie Foxx was adopted at a very tender age. His own form of adoption might be different because he was adopted by his mother's adoptive parents, Esther Marie and Mark Talley.

The popular country music star was also raised by adopted parents. Faith Hill was born in Ridgeland, Mississippi, north of Jackson, Mississippi.

She was raised in the nearby town of Star, 20 miles outside of Jackson. Her adoptive parents, Edna and Ted Perry, who adopted her as an infant and raised her with their two biological sons in a devout Christian environment.

Jack Nicholson

Jack Nicholson was adopted by his maternal grandmother as an infant. However, he grew up believing she was his mother.
