The Host
communities, producing oil and Gas association of Nigeria (Hostcom) held their
annual General meeting (AGM) on the 11th January 2018 at Cyprian
Hotel ltd in Ekpan Delta state to deliberate on why the federal government of
Nigeria should deal directly with the host communities.

In a
communique issued by the association signed by national acting chairman, high
chief Dr Style Benjamin and national secretary Evang Ibinabobo Sanipe and made
available to the press specifically stated that, seven (7) out of nine (9)
states attended the AGM.
The
communique clearly stated that the 2010 Hostcom constitution has been finally
amended and adopted by member states present at the AGM in accordance to the
by-laws guiding the association.
The meeting
agreed that, henceforth, the Federal government should deal directly with the
host communities producing oil and gas on issues relating to pipeline
surveillance.
The
communique further stated that after exhaustive deliberations on the issues of
electoral committee and nomination of members of the board of trustees, the AGM
in a unanimous decision pushed forward the nomination of trustees and
constitution of electoral committee to the next meeting.
