The
president of the Isoko Development Union IDU, Lagos branch women’s wing, Mrs.
Mary Uzezi Nwaru has called on Isoko people to vote for credible candidates in
the forth coming 2019 general elections.
Mrs.
Nwaru made this appeal while speaking to a group of journalists in Lagos
immediately after her re- election on the 16th September 2018 as the
president of the Lagos IDU, women’s wing. She appealed to all Isoko electorates
to demonstrate honesty and truthfulness in the 2019 political process by
ensuring that only candidates that are sensitive to the plight of the Isoko
masses are elected, stressing that Isoko nation is far trailing behind other
ethnic group in the state in the areas of infrastructural development.

Mrs.
Nwaru who was furious, advised that the Isoko electorates should vote for
candidates with integrity, not minding political parties, but they should vote
based on the candidate’s characters, looking at the decay of infrastructural
development in the Isoko nation.
“I
want to advise that the Isoko electorates should vote candidates with
impeccable characters. They should not vote based on political parties, but, on
individual characters because what the entire Isoko nation wants at the moment
is development. Therefore, we should vote wisely by voting for credible
candidates with impeccable characters”. She noted
Mrs.
Nwaru also reasoned that there is need to carry everyone along in the scheme of
things and suggested that political elective positions and appointments should
spread across the entire Isoko nation,
observing that as it is now a lot of communities are being deprived simply
because some of them are located at the waterside area. She therefore reasoned
that it is necessary to carry everyone along not minding area of location,
wether Isoko from Bayelsa, Ndokwa or any place, once an Isoko, should benefit
from the proceeds of political appointments.
Meanwhile,
in another development Mrs. Nwaru has just been conferred with the honour of
“Queenship” as the Queen of Avu women association, home and abroad of Avu
Owerri west local government area of Imo state.
The
honour was bestowed on her in recognition of her selfless service to the Avu
women and development of Avu community.
The
ceremony held on the 11th of August 2018 attracted dignitaries
across Imo and Delta states respectively to honour whom honour is due.
The
president of Avu women association, Lady Ahuokpeme Beatrice, while presenting
the certificate of “Queenship” honour to Mrs. Mary Uzezi Nwaru, she noted that
honour is given to those whom honour is due, stressing that Mrs. Nwaru who is
married from all the way from Isoko in Delta state to Avu community in Imo
state has contributed immensely to the progress and development of Avu
community is an indication that their choice to marry from Isoko was not a
wrong one.
