Traditional Rulers Council Spits Fire
on Alleged
rumored Death of Olomoro Monarch

The Isoko Council of
Traditional Rulers Delta State led by the Chairman HRM Anthony William Ovrawha
Omogha 1, the Odiologbo of Oleh kingdom, has threatened to seek redress on the
alleged rumours death of Olomoro monarch, at Ikiagbodo Olomoro, Isoko South
local government area of Delta State.
Speaking to news men during a
confirmation visit at the resident of HRM Josiah Umukoro Aghaza 1, the
Odiologbo of Olomoro kingdom to ascertain rumors making the rounds on the
alleged death of the monarch, HRM A. W. Omogha 1, the Odiologbo of Oleh said,
"whoever is behind the letter of death and false rumor of Olomoro monarch
will be dealt with according to the law of the land". He added that
"the monarch is here with us hale and healthy", stressing that "
we came to see if baba is still alive or not”.
The monarch said, the
decision by the traditional ruler’s council on the confirmation visit was taken
in a meeting held by the council, when they received a letter and information
on alleged death of HRM Josiah Umukoro Aghaza 1, the Odiologbo of Olomoro
kingdom. He said “it is clear that, baba is alive”. The royal majesty
emphasized that old age has affected the monarch and the council will take
appropriate decision on those behind the letter of death circulated everywhere.
Earlier, the Ovie of Emede
kingdom, HRM Johnson Ewhiri 11, condemned the false rumor of death on Olomoro
monarch and warned whoever is behind it to stop forthwith. He stated that such
unfounded rumor is capable of cursing breach of peace in the community. The
monarch emphasized that “we came to find out the real truth if the traditional
ruler of Olomoro kingdom is still alive, and we have seen him alive hale and
healthy, stressing that the traditional rulers council is not happy with the
false rumor. He noted that the public should take note that the monarch is
alive.
Also the Ovie of Enwhe, HRM
Anthony Efekodha and the Odiologbo of Umeh kingdom, HRM Ambrose Owhe reiterated
the council resolve to deal with those behind the letter of death on Olomoro
monarch, adding that they shall be exposed and made to pay for deformation of
character as the letter is libelous. In the entourage was the Ovie of Igbide
kingdom, HRM Edward Obukeni 1.
Recalled that a letter signed
by Cannan Odiki addressed to Sir Ithiako Constantine Ikpokpo, Chairman Isoko
South local government area, dated 13th February 2017, also
received by the traditional rulers council, alleging that “The entire members
of Odiki family of Ekrogbe write to inform the chairman Isoko South local
government area and other security agencies, that the Odiologbo died on 22nd of
July 2016, the son step in as a regent for the period of six months’’ The
statement added that ‘the next oldest man in the community will be crowed as
the Odiologbo of Olomoro kingdom”.
While commending the
traditional rulers council for the visit, HRM Josiah Umukoro Omosioni, Aghaza
1, son to the Odiologbo of Olomoro kingdom noted that, it is the work of those
envious of the thrown. He stated that he cannot hide the monarch if he passes on,
adding that “You have seen the monarch alive; I have nothing more to say, but government
must hear about it”.
