The Isoko ethnic nationality has condemned
strongly, its inclusion in the Biafra secession, noting that it does not share
the idea of a divided Nigeria.
It also appealed to the federal government to find lasting solution to the raging onslaught by Fulani herdsmen in the South.
This comes at the heels of a recently publicized map portraying the Isoko territory as part of Biafra.
Describing the act as disrespectful and provocative, the Isoko Development Union (IDU) in a statement signed by its president general, Chief Iduh Amadhe and public relations officer, Jonadab Edede, it denied having any consultation with any agitators.

According to the statement, while Isoko nation was concerned over threats to break Nigeria, it frowns at the evacuation notice issued by some northern youths to Igbos resident in the North.
Commending Acting President Yemi Osibanjo for ongoing consultations with leaders of both geopolitical zones, it called on government to do well to "allay the fears of all ethnic nationalities by enthroning equity, fairness and social justice," across the country.
The statement reads in part: "It is the highest mark of disrespect and blatant display of impunity for Biafra agitators to want to include any part of Isoko nation as part of their territory.
"The Isoko people have consistently advocated for the devolution of power that would guarantee the enthronement of true federalism to enable various people develop at their own pace.
"The menace caused by Fulani herdsmen and seeming inaction by the federal government is increasing disaffection in the country. We strongly appeal to all sectional leaders to refrain from making unguarded comments that can further heat up the polity."
