Ikpokpo, Egbabor inaugurates Isoko economic
and investment council

The Chairmen of Isoko South and North, Sir Ithiako  C. Ikpokpo and Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor has inaugurated the Isoko Economic and Investment Council with a charge to liaise with the federal and state governments, intervention Agencies, reputable financial investment institutions, Multinational organizations and Companies, Oil Companies operating in the area as well as religious Organizations on effective implementation and development  of an economic  and strategy action plan of the investment Summit at Oleh, Isoko South local government area of Delta State.

Inaugurating the Council, Sir Ithiako Ikpokpo urged the members of the Council to actualize the unanimous resolution of the Isoko Economic and Investment Summit held on 30th March, 2017. According to Ikpokpo, “the Council is saddled with the responsibility of harnessing the abundant economic and huge investment potentials of Isoko economy”. He emphasized that the economic and industrial development of Isoko Nation through articulation of the strategy action plan will facilitate industrial revolution of the area.
 
Inaugurated members of Isoko Economic and Investment Council by Sir. Ithiako C. Ikpokpo and Hon. Emmanuel A. Egbabor, both Chairmen Isoko South and North local government area of Delta State. 
Ikpokpo stressed that the Council is expected to develop an Isoko economic development and investment master plan with a clear identification and categorization of economic opportunities such as agriculture, hospitality, tourism, power and energy, oil and gas, manufacturing and merchandize. He added that the council tasks include identification of viable but abandoned agriculture and industrial enterprise across Isoko land. Noting that establishment of endowment fund towards capacity and human development for Isoko youth in agriculture, skill acquisition, research and technological transfer is for self-discovery and reliance.

Sir Ikpokpo assured the council of unequivocal support and prayers of the local government and Isoko people at all times, emphasizing that the goals and objectives are realizable given the caliber, pedigree, patriotism, expertise, accomplishment and commitment of the council.

While responding on behalf of members of the council, Sir Ayodele Othihiwa Chairman of the council assured the chairmen and entire Isoko Nation of the commitment in changing the economic narratives of Isoko Nation. Othihiwa commended Ikpokpo and Egbabor for thorough selection of experts in various facets of the economy from Isoko South and North local government area towards the actualization of viable economic and industrial development of the area.


Other members of the council are Hon. Eta Enahoro vice Chairman, Bishop John U. Aruakpor, Dr. Jonathan Osusuakpor, Barr. (Chief) Duncan Afahokor, High Chief Iduh Amadhe, Chief Mrs. J.O. Ovuorie, Rev. Dr. Amos Obi, Mrs Zino Monitey and Barr. Paul Emarhana who is to serve as secretary of the council. In attendance were President generals of various communities across Isoko South and North local government area of Delta State
