Be good ambassador- Okwuofo charges civil servants
As the Delta State Civil Service Commission begins its
mandated monitoring exercise, civil servants have been charged to remain
exemplary in the discharge of their duties.
Speaking yesterday [01-08-17] in Asaba when she led members
of the Civil Service Commission on a Monitoring visit to the Directorate
of Government House and Protocol, the Chairman, Dame Nkem Okwuofu, said that as
civil servants they had the responsibility of not only carrying out their
duties diligently but also should be good ambassadors of the commission and the
state.
According to her "As civil servants, you have to be
good ambassadors of the commission and the state, you have a responsibility to
execute your duties diligently and efficiently".
Addressing the issue of promotion, Dame Okwuofu assured
civil servants of the commission's determination to ensure that promotions were
effected as at when due saying "we are determined to ensure that
promotions are done as at when due so that civil servants can benefit the
fruits of their labour".
Earlier in a welcome address, Sir Eddy Ogidi-Gbegbaje,
Permanent Secretary Government House and Protocol in a welcome address
said that the essence of the exercise was to ensure that civil servants
remained focused in the discharge of their duties and thanked the Commission
for the monitoring visit.
