The Chairman of Isoko South local government area, Sir
Ithiako Constantine Ikpokpo has said that, his administration for the past
three years has recorded tremendous success inspite of challenges. Ikpokpo made
the statement during the handover of the council’s administration to the head
of personnel management, Mr. James Kolo at the Council’s secretariat Oleh,
Isoko South local government area of Delta State.
Sir Ikpokpo while commending the vice chairman, Hon.
Rahael Egaga Okaruefe, the secretary, Mr. kola Obrogo, heads of departments and
councilors of Isoko south local government area for corporation and commitment
to duty said, ‘I great the people of Isoko South just as the inability to pay
salaries brought love, unity and common aspiration”.
He commended the state governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi
Okowa for his exemplary love, guidance and personal sacrifice in ensuring
smooth and orderly governance of the local government area. Ikpokpo said,
governor Okowa through leadership acumen, administrative patience and knowledge
he was able to steer the ship of governance. He pledged his loyalty to the
People’s Democratic Party whose platform he served.
Ikpokpo said, “I am particularly grateful to the
people of Isoko South, the Traditional rulers, Isoko Development Union,
religious leaders and community president generals who stood by me in most
challenging period of my administration”. The local government boss commended
the legislative arm and staff of Isoko South Council for corporation,
dedication and understanding.
High point of the ceremony was the handover of Isoko
South Council administration to the head of personnel management, Mr. James
kolo. While responding, Mr. Kolo commended Sir Ikpokpo for his doggedness at
achieving much within the lean resources of the local government area. He also
commended heads of departments, councilors and supervisory councilors for
supporting the chairman to succeed.
Mr Kolo said, Ikpokpo has done well in sustaining the
security of the local government and urged the security officers to ensure that
the tempo is sustained. He noted that Isoko South is the cleanest local
government area in Delta State through the effort of Sir Ikpokpo environmental
sanitation. On his part, Chief Iduh High chief Iduh Amaidhe, president general
Isoko development Union, thanked Ikokpo and noted that Isoko people are proud
of him just as development is evident when juxtaposed to other local government
area of Delta State.
Earlier, a valedictory section was organized by Sir
ikpokpo for heads of departments, Councilors and supervisory Councilors at the
chairman’s office. They commended Ikpokpo for a successful tenure and prayed
for more wisdom and knowledge in future endeavors.
