SPEAK OUT

By October 7TH Isoko nation will be 54, what has been the benefit so far in terms of development and unity.
By: Oke Lugard, Ekpobe Esther, Jacob Oghale, Ogheneothuke Maureen, Ajayi Gladys, Ekeregbe Patience, Ogochukwu Gift, Emetearehor Joy, Umukoro Oviemuno, Ejete Mercy, Agbada Catherine, Diken Chinedu, Owhomeregwa Favour.
Many of our youths are being used for political thuggery everyday by day, fighting and destroying properties worth several millions of naira on each occasion when there is crisis. The question is, where are the children of these politicians using other peoples children to create havoc in Isoko land? The answer is simple their children are not there but schooling in abroad.
The latest is the resolved Igbide and Enwhe crisis which claimed scores of lives and properties worth several millions of naira. On this note Isoko mirror reporters went out to seek peoples opinions and advice for the youths. Read on:
Barr Mrs. Monica Ighota
“Before I advice the youths especially the ones that are used for communal crisis, we have to go to the root cause of the problem. Why our youths are been used or why are they involved in crime?
Barr.Mrs.Monica Ighota(lawyer)

The background matters (which is the family) is the first place a child comes from, for instance, in our Nigeria constitution a youth should be at least 18 years and above and if the parents fail to manage them when they are young they will go astray.
That is why it is paramount for parents to manage their children and install discipline in them.
However my advice to the youths is
1.The government do more in terms of providing employment and creating enabling environment for the private sector to thrive.
As a result of this spirit of disunity we’ve not been able to achieve the desire benefit anything compare to other ethnic nationality, although outside Isoko we are united.
Mr. Success Okole
Mr.Success Okole (Businesssman)
*       My only advice to the youth is that they should be God fearing. The fear of God that will make them to know

what is right and wrong so that they will not fall prey to the politicians not to exploit the current prevailing economic situation of the country to use them for the wrong thing knowingfully well that the politicians will always dump them after using them for selfish reasons.

Mr. Ogboye Augustine (Pharmacist)
MR. Ogboye Augustine(Pharmacist)
*       My advice for the youths is that they should know God, fear God and   respect their parents.
The Bible even made it clear that he/she that obey his/her parent will attain a better future.
The benefit the Isoko nation has attained since they left the Urhobo western division is that we are closer to the government by having our own local government. Also we have a say at the state level and federal level.

Mr. Ogodo Onos (Artist)
Mr.Ogodo Onos(Artist)
“My advice to the youth is to get themselves acquainted with one job, this will enable them shun violence if they have work to do to earn a living it will be difficult for our present politician to manipulate them, since they cannot be easily influenced when they have something
doing”.
‘In answer to the first question, the development has not been up to expectation in terms of social amenities, education and security issues. The government have not done well for the Isoko nations unlike their counterparts, Urhobo and Itsekiri.

Stella Efe (Pharmacist)
From my observation, the Isoko nation is not doing up to expectation so far in all aspects. For instance,

my sister who is based in the Urhobo area always commend the good works of the government unlike us in the Isoko nation which lacks infrastructural and social amenities.
And my advice to the youth is to focus on God, they should at all time be committed to the works of God.

Prince Edike
For me, the Isoko Nation and their government has tried. Recently, it was declared in the National House of Assembly that the Isoko Local Government is one of the best (3) three local governments out of the 25 local government in Delta State in terms of development. We should try to support the government so that there will be more development.
To answer the second question, I think the youth should be re-oriented towards their future and know their worth. Infact, the politicians who are engaging in violence have their children schooling in abroad. If the politician, know what they are doing is good, why not use their children?

Chief Sunny Egbis
Chief Sunny Egbis(Businessman)
So far the government has tried in terms of development in all area like education, security, power supply. If you look around you will see that we have good road network, a commendable power supply even the educational sector.
The Isoko Nation have produced good and responsible students who can take the nation to the next level. We should all pray for them to do more.

My advice to the youth is that they should not allow themselves to be used by the politician they should know that the politician are not wishing them good, instead  they should engage in something more beneficial.

Speak out

NIGERIA as a country will be 57 years old by October 1st 2017. The question now is that 57 years now on the line, are we at the right place in terms growth?
Looking at the above question, there is need to say that Nigeria as a nation has moved on inspite of challenges facing the country. On this note, Isoko mirror reporters decided to sample some opinions from the public in view of the current prevailing challenges facing the nation. Here are some of the opinions sampled. Read on:
By
Anyisire Blessing, Ugbe Charity, Igba Theresa, Roman Promise, Odiabara Philomina, Augustine Stella, Agbanoma Edafe, Oweife Gabriel, Oyibo Elohor, Idhogor Eseoghene Gift, Akpobi Oghenefejiro, Jagbedia Obaroarah, Ebinum Prince and Agwaleza  Praise.

Mr. Omohakpor Enaye,

The problem of Nigeria since independence is so serious, for example India obtained her Independence from Britain in 1947, and we obtained Independence in 1960, the years different is not much.

Today, India is self reliance in agriculture. They are third world country and have one of the best sub-marine in the world, also one of the best in the technological industry

Mr.Omohakpor Enaye
India has gone very far, but Nigeria is still behind. The reason is not far fetch, we were given Federal system of government at Independence, but we are not practicing federalism, ‘I study in America so I specialized in American government/, but our country is not practicing federalism.
What the country needed at the moment is true federalism where all the component parts of the nation will feel a sense of belonging to enhance rapid development of the nation and do away with nepotism resulting from inept leadership. The young ones should begin to ask questions and demands answers from the older ones why nigeria as a nation is not progressing the way it should be.

Mr. Ufuoma Ibiadhe – Businessman

Mr.Ufuoma Ibiadhe
Nigeria is improving in Agriculture but they are still importing, there is no unity, there’s anarchy everywhere, there is struggle for restructuring,
there is no security in Nigeria there is a lot of kidnapping, Boko Haram bombing many places. In the North East, they have not even released the remaining chibok school girls until now. Nigeria is not improving in terms of petroleum, because we have a lot of refineries, but still importing.

Mrs. Patricia – Teacher

Mrs.Patricia
In the area of employment, I don’t think they are doing anything good, in terms of agriculture, they are trying a little, in unity they are very poor in that area.
The electricity, is even the worst,

it is only people that are rich that are enjoying their life with generator, but the poor people are suffering of electricity.
It is in the hand of the government to find means to call BEDC to order.

Barr. Muhammad Mustapha – Lawyer

The only time I will say we ever had a political system of government is just about 4-5 years during the time of Shagari, but now the question is are we in politics since 1960 till date. If you look at it very well, despite the fact that the electoral commission (i.e INEC) are responsible for election in Nigeria, those that makes laws as still the National house of Assembly, they call INEC an independent therefore suppose to make her laws, administer it, and regulate it by itself but instead, commission is bound to follow, can we now say our politics in Nigeria is independent? That is to say we have not yet moved into a complete political system.
The only way out is that things should be done in the right way. Lawyers should work as lawyers, the military to his job, the police should be responsible for policing the country. A person who is a Doctor is being appointed as a Minister of Agriculture, as a result of politics
Mustapha Mohammed

What we need in Nigeria is leadership. A leader is a person in a position of trust and does not take advantage of it, he thinks of those he leads, he would not appoint the wrong person if he thinks of the interest of his followers in general.
We should have a law that looks at everybody equally, the mechanism that will carry out the implementation of the law must be standard. If the law is standard the person who has been appointed will not embezzle public funds because he knows the law will focus on him.

Barr. Eni-Okoro Akpofure Dennis- Lawyer

Barr.Eni-Okoro Dennis
When we talk about political issues since Independence, 1960, it has been the bedrock of our problem. We have had issues of civil war and political instability. When government comes into power, they intend suggesting things to solve problems, this is because we are not pro-active, we are not thinking ahead due to the fact that the masses are not informed enough in order for them to contribute to development and political restructuring.

There is no way we can get out from these problems without looking at our economy. Nigerians have little knowledge on Economy issues because they are not well informed.

Isoko my Nationality at 54 years, are we Cursed or Blessed?

By Del Kruja
Isoko my blessed Nationality, I don’t believe we are cursed. What we have are wicked, selfish, self-centered leaders. “If not me and my children no one else”. In 1963, Isoko got her independence and on October 7th 2017 Isoko as a nation will be 54 years”
Isoko is the Israel of Nigeria we are blessed with Crude Oil, Farm Produce; above all, we have a tourist site, “Araya, where God dropped the “Holy Bible” and many more. Our religious leaders and not left out in this atrocities being committed against the Isoko citizens.
“When God wants to disgrace certain people, baskets are used to fetch water”. God is again raising new sets of leaders in Isoko,  people like High chief Iduh Amadhe, Arc. Ajiri Ogeh, Mr Daniel Omoyibo, Hon.Eta Enahoro, Chief Otobo Mathias, Chief Akpos Uvo, Dr.Ufuoma Omakaro, Barr.Duncan Afahokor, Chief Joseph Egunoma, Elder James Uvo, Chief Paul Odhomor, Hon.Otobo E.Ugbome, Sir Ayodele Othihiwa, High Chief Dan Akpoili, Hon.Chief Raphael Egaga Okaruefe, Barr. Tony Ejumejowo, and Barr Paul Emerahna.
I am sure the above mentioned people are not going to change now, but if they do, the God of Isoko will be waiting for them.
Polictising Isoko people’s lives is unacceptable. We must perish self-aggrandizement, greed, self-centerness and above all, do away with the Isoko disease, PHD (pull him/her down) syndrome so that in the next 6 years we can come close to being blessed like Isrealies.
Read and learn from the Isreal Prime Minister, Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu speech.
Mr. Nethanyahu said:
Only 70 years ago! The Jews were taken to slaughter like sheep.
no country. No Army.
Seven Arab countries declared war on the small Jewish state, only a few hours after its creation!
we were 650 Jews against the rest of the Arab world!
NO IDF (Israel Defense Army).
No powerful air force, only brave people with nowhere to go. Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Libya, Saudi Arabia all attacked at the same time. The country that the United Nations gave us was a 65 % desert. The country is out of nowhere! 35 years ago! We fought the three most power armies Powerful in the Middle East, and we swept them in six days. We fought against various coalitions of Arab countries, which had modern armies and many Soviet weapons, and we have always beaten them!
Today we have a country, an Army, a powerful Air force, A State-of-the-Art Economy, which exports millions of dollars. Intel - Microsoft - ibm develops products at home. our doctors receive awards for medical research.
We make the desert bloom, and sell oranges, flowers and vegetables all over the world. Israel has sent its own satellites into space! Three satellites at the same time! We are proud to be at the same rank as: The United States, which has 250 million inhabitants, Russia, which has 200 million inhabitants, China, which has 1.3 billion inhabitants; Europeans - France, Great Britain, Germany - with 350 million inhabitants.
The only countries in the world to send objects into space! Israel is now part of the family of the nuclear powers, with the United States, Russia, China, India, France, and Great Britain.
(We have never officially admitted it, but everyone knows it) and say that only 60 years ago, we were LED, ashamed and hopeless, to slaughter! We have extirpes the smoking ruins of Europe, we have won our wars here with less than nothing we built our little "Empire" from nothing.
Who's Hamas to scare me? to terrify me ?you make me laugh! Passover was celebrated;
let’s not forget what this is about. we survived Pharaoh, we survived the Greeks ,we survived the Romans, we survived the inquisition in Spain, we have the pogroms in Russia, we survived Hitler, we survived the Germans, we survived the Holocaust, we survived the armies of seven Arab countries, we survived saddam. we will survive the enemies present
Think of any time in human history! Think about it, for us, the Jewish people, the situation has never been better! then let's face the world, Let us remember: all nations or cultures who once tried to destroy us, no longer exist today - while we still live! Egypt?, the Greeks? Alexander of Macedonia?, the Romans? (does anyone still speak Latin these days? ),The Third Reich?, and look at us, The Bible Nation, The slaves of Egypt, We are still here,
And we speak the same language! Then, and now! Arabs don't know yet, but they will learn that there is a God. as long as we keep our identity, we are forever. So forgive us for not worrying, not to cry, not to be afraid. Things are fine here. They could certainly get better.
However: Don’t believe the media, they don't tell you parties continue to take place people continue to live, people keep coming out, people continue to see friends.
Yes, our morale is low.so what? Only because we mourn our deaths while others rejoice in the bloodshed. That is why we will win, in the end.

Never sleep or sleep the guardian of Israel! Yahweh God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The Burning Issues

CAPITALISM and the CHURCH: The way forward.
By Enenche, Comedian
There is a work side to prosperity. It is the works of your hand God blesses.
People are in farms planting yams and you are busy sitting in church, when it is harvesting time; don't expect yams to fall from heaven. When it is eating time; people are eating and you are "believing" God for yams.

Faith without work is dead. There should be a corresponding action in line of faith.
When the gospel came to Africa, the missionaries saw two vital areas of deficiencies; hospital and school. They filled these gaps. Today, directly or indirectly, we have all benefited from it.
Today, we have a major problem; unemployment. Instead of filling this gap we are taking advantage of it.
We gather the unemployed and "prophesy" jobs to them. We give them stickers, sell "holy water", tell them to sow and expect harvest, convincing them to "work" for the Lord, that breakthrough is coming... All these we do to exploit and explore the vulnerable.
We travel abroad. We have gone to Isreal and see the agricultural exploits there. But we are not willing to bring them home.
When we sow, instead of our money to be invested into ventures like agriculture that would alleviate the sufferings of the weak ones among us, we channel the money to an atheist in Germany who designed MOG's customised car.
We channel the money to Buddhists in China where we bought our building materials. We channel the money to a gay in America who produced the sound system and lighting system.
We channel the money to a Muslim in Dubai who did the interior decoration of our " magnificent " building...what a Capital Flight!
Why are we crying of poverty and for breakthrough? The God that I know respond to work wherever he sees man doing something to advance humanity, be it a Hindu, Gay, Buddhist, atheist etc.
I don't want to start mentioning names; neither do I want to indict any person. But just imagine Living Faith going to rice production, RCCG going into Cassava production, Christ Embassy into Maize, God's Choosen into Yams, Catholics into millets etc.
The land is there, the man power is there, the money is there, like the missionaries, who saw a problem and filled it, we can also fill this problem of unemployment and food security.
Just imagine a church sending hundreds of trailer load of food to evangelise the north. No man can resist love. Feed them in love and watch how their hearts change. That was how the missionaries changed the hearts of our forebears.
The missionaries have tried for us, and instead of us to keep pressing northwards, we have resulted in building empires. We have commercialized the gospel. It is all about breakthrough, money and less Jesus, His Person, His Sacrifice and Finished works.
We have the manpowers to feed Nigeria and Africa, generate employment by adding values to farm produce and exporting them.
We have traveled abroad and have seen great agricultural exploits, it is time to bring these inventions home.
It is time we convert our exotic cars in our garages to tractors and other mechanised and modern agricultural tools. Doing what government cannot do, by do doing this; "THE GOVERNMENT SHALL BE UPON HIS SHOULDER ".
When we roar, the government is supposed to quiver, not because of our large bank accounts, but because of our intimidating exploits.
It is time to wake-up... I see a day when we shall be holding our numerous church services in farms and factories. It is time to take the government upon His shoulder. It is action time!
Thank you.

A mere comedian has spoken!

ISOKOISM

Traditional Isoko Education
To the average Nigerian, a person is not educated if he did not pass through the four walls of a school or a campus to obtain formal training in the Western way. Education to him must be seen through the lens of the white man. So the traditional Isoko education bequeathed to us by our forefathers is generally considered as primitive. Was our forefathers’ education primitive? Did they educate us well or not? This article seeks to assert that before Western education came to Nigeria in the 19th century, our forefathers had evolved a note- worthy, progressive and society-building form of education in Isokoland. What is education, after all?
Experts in that field have given us illuminating definitions of true education. For instance, hear Robert Coram (1761-1796), an English-born American educationist:
John Uyeh

“Education means the instruction of youth in certain rules of conduct by which they will be able to support themselves when they come of age, and to know the obligations they are under to society of which they constitute a part”. Back home in Nigeria, the renowned educationist, late Professor Babs  Fafunwa also gave an apt definition: “Education is the aggregate of all the processes by which a child or young adult develops the abilities, attitudes and other forms of behavior which are of positive value to the society in which he lives”.
Anyone who fully grasps the above definitions, and anyone, elderly (like myself), who had  a mix of both the traditional education and the western type would appreciate the value of our Isoko native education. All ingredients of proper and true education were in the broth of our upbringing: physical training, character grooming, intellectual training , vocational/occupational orientation and community participation.
We learnt from our parents, relatives and peer groups all forms of physical exercise: various dances ( the opiri, udhe ,etc), jumping, climbing, running, wrestling, group games and “warfares”, etc which prepared us for rigorous assignments at the later stage of our lives.  Indeed, the traditional education fully captured various fitness-enhancing exercises in its radar. Even   the physically handicapped learnt to apply their residual physique so as not to be beggars. Weakness in one part of the body was compensated for by exceptional strength in other parts.
Consider also character development. Of all the aspects of our traditional education, character building was the most essential. Nuclear and extended families (usually located in the same compound) were involved in the upbringing of a child. Morals, code of conduct, discipline, honesty, honour, cleanliness, chastity and other virtues such as respect were highly promoted. Leaving a seat for an elder, going on an errand, greeting etc were all signs of respect and good behavior. In Isoko, our main greeting is “Me digwe” (I am on my knees) from the younger one while “Vre do”(get up, welldone/thank you) is the response from the elder. Wrongful acts such as theft, robbery, ill-gotten possession were seriously frowned at and punished by parents, families and communities. In those days, the average parent   felt better off   not having an offspring than having one who would bring disgrace and shame to the family. That was the educational offering then. It was not the type ,nowadays  which celebrates  ill-gotten wealth; not the type, nowadays ,where a youth can insult an elder and even poke fingers at his eyes; and certainly not the type, nowadays, where the “educated” are involved in armed robbery, kidnapping, “4-1-9”, “yahoo yahoo” and other heinous crimes.
Thirdly, consider intellectual training. Intellectual property was of essence in line with the Latin phrase, “mens sana in corpore  sano”(sound mind and sound body).Through observation/scrutiny, instructions and participation we learnt to reason, analyse, grasp and experience the environment, seasons and life around us. Informally we learnt local history, Isoko world-view about the world, creatures, astrology , etc . Through story-telling (oral literature), folklore, Isoko proverbs and figures of speech we expanded our intellectual elasticity in communication and listening skills. Our Traditional education covered diverse subjects such as science, agriculture, philosophy, calculation ,measurements, etc. We recognized  that Isoko numerals and calculations are known through additions, subtractions, divisions and multiplications (as in Mathematics). For instance ,we count from ovo (one), ive (two) to Ikpe (ten),then eleven is ikpe gbe ovo (ten plus one), etc to udhe (twenty), twenty-one is udhe gbe  ovo (twenty plus one) and so on. Were there enough space we could go on and on. The point is that the elastic length, breadth and height of our native education offered a great intellectual volume of knowledge in diverse human brain explorations. Those of us who were privileged to drink from that fountain can claim that we are educationally edified.
Our native education was also particular about the application and utility of the skills acquired. Toward that end, there was provision for vocational, occupational “apprenticeships”: “apprenticeship” in farming, hunting, carving, carpentry, block making, building, wine-tapping, etc.  In the traditional society which our forefathers had at the time it was recognized that children needed to be equipped with income-yielding skills to support themselves later in life. Children studied and learnt from parents, uncles, peer group and became proficient in one trade, occupation, profession or the other. In fact, many “trainees” became more proficient than their “trainers”. They developed the required capabilities to support themselves at adult age. More, they were useful   to their communities by participating in communal activities. I remember vividly that in my native village, Idheze, in the 1950’s my age group promoted dignity of labour by participating in bush-path clearing, street cleaning, building of wooden bridges, culverts, digging wells and latrines, etc for the good of the community.

What is education if one is not physically and intellectually sound? ; if one’s character is not built up with discipline, respect, integrity, morality, honesty etc?;  if one is not adequately skilled to have a career, trade, occupation, profession to support oneself?; if one does not have the abilities, attitudes and other forms of behavior which are of positive value to his society? The questions again. Were our forefathers educated or not?  Did they educate us well or not? Can we sweep our Traditional Isoko Education under the carpet of westernized education?

You & Your Health

Do you know the health benefits of charcoal?
Charcoal is one of the most disregarded products at home. We only see the need for it when it is time to set fire for cooking or ironing of cloths.
However, if you really need first aid, charcoal is something you need to have on you all the time, you might not know this but it is one of the most medicinal products you can have at home due to its poison extraction ability.
In case you never gave it much attention, this is the time to do so.
Charcoal

Here are *14 benefits* of charcoal you never thought about.
·       Odour Prevention: Does your shoe smell bad? just get some charcoal and put it in them. Do you have any bad smell in your room? Drop some charcoal where you suspect the smell could be coming from. Does your fridge or freezer smell? Put a piece of charcoal in it. Do you have strong body odour? Just make a powder out of charcoal and use.
Charcoal is very good at getting rid of bad smell. Ever wondered why your parents always scooped out the ash from the coal pot to pour in the hen coop or toilet before sweeping? That was to get rid of the odour.

·       Keeping Food Fresh: If you want your vegetables to be fresh all the time, just make a solution out of charcoal and leave your vegetables in them.

  • ·       Toxins Removal from Food: These days, people complain about the use of fertilizers on plants and vegetables, making them unwholesome and poisonous. If you have charcoal, you don’t need to worry about this, all you need to do is leave the vegetables in a charcoal solution overnight and it’ll take care of the toxins. If you suspect any food contains too many chemicals, just drop them in a charcoal solution for some hours .

  • ·       Teeth Whitening: If you want to whiten your teeth, pay no attention to all these adverts on whitening chemicals and technology, just get yourself some charcoal and grab hold of a plantain stalk, make a powder out of the charcoal, mash the tip of the plantain stalk, dip it into the charcoal powder and brush your teeth with it for a week.

  • ·       Restoration of Soup That Went Bad: Did your groundnut soup or palm nut soup go bad? No need to worry about pouring it all away. Just put it back on fire and drop a piece of charcoal in it. This will extract all the bad taste and smell and restore the soup to its fresh state.

  • ·       Detoxification: Do you have a hangover? Just have some charcoal with you and chew on it. To make it more effective, make a nice solution out of it and drink, you’re good to go.

  • ·       Neutralization of Alcohol: If you mistakenly did some wild mixing and feel it can knock you out, just add some charcoal to the mixture and your problem is solved. Or if you took in too much alcohol, just drink some charcoal solution and you’re good to go.

  • ·       Healing Wounds: Do you have a situation where someone’s wound has become so infected to the state doctors are saying they have to cut the affected area? Don’t stress over it, get a large amount of charcoal powder and pour it on the wound. This will extract all the poison from the wound and also help it heal faster. If you have a cut and you want to treat it fast, just get some powdered charcoal and pour on it.

  • ·       Water FiltrationDo you feel your water is contaminated? You don’t need all these products on the market, charcoal can do better, just drop some amount of it in it. Don’t worry about the colour, it is safe, you can even chew on charcoal. It is far safer than eating chicken from KFC.

  •   Skin Cleansing: Do you have pimples, acne or any skin disease you really want to get rid of or do you want a very smooth face or skin? All you need is charcoal. Make a thick solution out of it and smear it on your body and leave it on for some hours before taking your bath. It will leave your skin smooth and fresh.

  • ·       Stain Removal: Do you have some stubborn stain in your kitchen, washroom or on your tiles? You actually need charcoal to get rid of it. I know you’re imagining how this black stainy product can actually remove stains right? Just try it, it works like magic.

  • ·    Getting Rid of a Bloated Stomach:If you ate or drank something and feel bloated, charcoal is the best solution to get rid of the bloating.

  • ·       Getting Rid of Bad Cholesterol In You: Making a solution out of it and drinking helps eliminate all the bad cholesterol you have stored in you.

  • ·      Ulcer Treatment: Charcoal can treat all the ulcers out there you can think of including stomach ulcer. Just make it a habit to always chew on some.

Activated Charcoal
Activated charcoal is also useful but the above benefits are from using simple charcoal.
You cannot make activated charcoal at home. It is a manufactured product. It is actually a drug and available in tablets to deal with poisoning in clinics. Luckily, the best type is derived from coconut shell. Bioresources Institute of Nigeria (BION) at Umuna, Imo State has initiated the processing of food and drug grade activated charcoal under GMP conditions, to be realized as soon as the target specifications are met.
Activated charcoal can interfere with the absorption nutrients, supplements and prescription medications. Take activated charcoal 90 minutes to two hours prior to meals, supplements and prescription medications. Potential adverse interactions with the following drugs can occur: naltrexone (used for alcohol and opioid dependence), acrivastine, bupropion, carbinoxamine, fentanyl, hydrocodone, meclizine, morphine, methadone, morphine sulfate liposome, mycophedone, oxymorphone, suvorexant, tapendol, unexlidinium, acetaminophin, tricyclic antidepressants, theophylline. When selecting activated charcoal, it's vital that you know what it's made from. Not all activated charcoal supplements are created equally. Look for activated charcoal made from coconut shells or identified wood species that have ultra-fine grains. In the powdered from, many products have added artificial sweeteners to make them more palatable; avoid these. Artificial sweeteners are loaded with chemicals and frankly speaking, it doesn't make sense to take activated charcoal to get your body rid of chemicals and toxins if it's loaded with chemicals. Sweeten it naturally if desired with fresh juice or of natural sweetener.

What do you think?

Isoko communities must advance, and to achieve this, we must do away with primordial sentiments, address challenges scientifically in line with pratices in advanced societies and perhaps our sister ethic nationalities. I would like to admonish our community PGs and leaders to eschew violence, avoid those steps that are capable of causing chaos in our communities. No development can take place in any environment that is crisis prone. Dialogue and consultation are better instruments to be difficult situations.
THE UNION HAS BEEN SADDLED WITH THE FOLLOWING:
A.           Iyede Traditional Crisis: This has been settled out of Ozoro high court and the Ovie is relating well with his council of chiefs.
B.           Igide/Okpolo Enwhe Land Dispute/Crisis: The Isoko south local government council and IDU have done their best in this matter but unfortunately, total peace has not returned. No permanent boundary has been fixed and there is road block in between the communities. Government of Isoko south IDU had intervened in the crisis and recommendations made. Both communities agreed that they will dialogue as brothers, which they did in warri for months until 20th August, 2017 when the renewed hostilities occurred. People have been killed and properties have been destroyed. This is sad and negative publicity to Isoko Nation and I want to say without apology to anyone that what has happened is total leadership failure on both communities and Isoko must take a decision on the crisis today.
C.           Ozoro/Oleh Land Dispute: The peace committee has worked for almost 11/2 years, visited the disputed land and interrogated all parties. Their peace report will be submitted to both clans, Isoko leaders and government officials.
D.           Onogbokor Community Crisis: I have the pleasure to report to the conference that the 30 years internal crisis of Onogbokor clan, an Isoko Community in Ndokwa East has been resolved. The settlement report is enclosed in your file.
E.            Olomoro Community Internal Leadership crisis has been resolved courtesy of Isoko South Local Government Council, Traditional Rulers and IDU.
F.            Uzere Community internal Leadership crisis has been settled.
G.           Enyagbedi/Ozoro Land Dispute: The peace talk is in progress.
H.           The Oyede Clan Traditional matter is still under mediation.
I.             in addition, the Aviara Clan Traditional stool/regent case which is in court is also being handled by a peace committee.
J.            Also resolved is the leadership problem in Ilorin branch, attached is a copy of the settlement.
K.            Ibrede Community Crisis: The Union will move into it after the conference. Consequent on the various crises in Isoko Land, we appeal to our traditional rulers and leaders of thought of various communities to take bold intiatives to accelerate the peace process in their constitution to the secretariat of I.D.U.

2. ACCREDITATION OF LAW/ENGINEERING FACULTIES, DELSU, OLEH CAMPUS:
Accreditation of programmes is very important in any university. The IDU has worked relentlessly and we are happy to inform you that faculty of law has been fully accredited.
Three departments of faculty of engineering: civil, Elect/Elect and mechanical have been accredited. The union borrowed N5 million towards the accreditation in june but postponed to November, 2016. We are grateful to his lord Bishop J.Aruakpor of oleh diocese and Mr.Ogaga Ifowodo who donated N500,000 for laboratory table.
3. FOUNDATION LAYING CERRMONY OF THE NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY, EMEVOR STUDY CENTRE:
This centre which strated with about 120 students now has a population of over 1200 students. We wish to commend the Emevor community for raising about N25 million for the permanent site. The IDU also donated 10009’’ blocks towards the rise up to the challenges of moving it an enviable height.
4. OZORO POLYTECHNIC:
In collaboration with Rt. Hon.Leo Ogor and Ozoro community, we are working towards the conversion of the polytechnic to a federal poly.
5. OFAGBE TECHNICAL COLLEGE:
This college has been fully developed by the state government, New classrooms, Staff quarters, Laboratories, Hostel blocks with equipment for vocational studies have been provided but our problem is that the underutilized. The solution is that all PGs, politicians and investors/politicians should send youths for training/empowerment in the technical school to reduce the ‘ose’ syndrome.
6. CONSTRUCTION of ISOKO UNITY HOUSE:
This project has reached an advance stage (roofing level). We wish to appreciate his excellency, governor of delta state and mamagement of DESOPADEC for listening to IDU leadership. The commission is also making arrangement to furnish the present secretariat.
7. ISOKO LANGUGE DEVELOPMENT:
Books on the languge and curriculum for teaching our children are being printed by Sir Othihiwa Ayodele. Our prayer is that the God of isoko should bless him. We also appreciate the isoko language committee and ELONA FOUNDATION for their wonderful work they are doing. We equally commend Isoko Positive Agenda for their commitment towards the propagation of the language through the media.
8. ELECTRICATION OF THE PREMISE:
Hon.Leo Ogor has promised to install a 500kva transformer for us and has sent a contractor to take measurement/costing. DESOPADEC management led by Bashorun Askia Ogieh is equally making effort to electrify part of the complex.
10. ISOKO ELETRICITY:
His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, during his town hall meeting in isoko on 10th may,2017, directed the Attorney General to fast-track the process of signing the MOU with Thames energy and BEDC. There have been some bottlenecks along the ways, which made IDU/Hon.Karo Ilolo and two council chairmen to arrange for a stakeholders meeting in July. Thames energy, BEDC and IDU representatives have gone round isoko land to ascertain the quantity of energy that will be consumed. We have reached an advance state hopefully there will be constant light in isoko one day.
11. INVESTMENT IN ISOKO LAND:
The two isoko local government council chairmen in collaboration with IDU/Clans organized an isoko economic summit three months ago to attract investors and monitor all investments in isoko nation. We thank the chairmen for their co-operation and foresight.
Furthermore, it is a thing of joy to inform this august gathering thet Kcompass commodities Ltd. Is currently working with the support of the Minisry of Agriculture/Ministry of Urban renwal to ensure that the untapped potential of Aviara communal farm is realized in order that jobs can be created, local rice farmers encouraged in isoko land delta state can be recongnized as an agro-processing and exporting power house in nigera with rice mill situated in our community.
I salute the efforts of Hon.Karo Ilolo in attracting invenstors to isoko land and call on others to emulate him.
12. AMENDMENT OF POTHOLES ON ARADHE-ELLU-OZORO-OLEH-AKIEWHE-OWHE-EMEVOR-IYEDE-UGHELLI ROAD:
We note with satisfaction the recent directive by His Excellency Governor of Delte State to the contractor to carry out the maintenance job. IDU is equally grateful to the HRMs of Ozoro and Ellu for their support.
13. OIL COMPANIES OPERATING IN ISOKO LAND AND THEIR PRINCIPLE OF DIVIDE AND RULE:
a.            No employment of isoko into Management position.
b.            No contracting using local content conditions
c.            Promotion of crisis in different communities, using our own people.
We appeal to Oil producing Communiuty leaders to be wiser, transparent and more proactive in dealing with the Oil Companies to enable isoko benefit more.
The isoko nation is putting pressure on government and heritage energy operational services Ltd. To create separate communities development borad (CDB) for us, as organizing the III communities has been very problematic and not advantageous to isoko people. It is also important to note that isoko produce over 60% of the crude oil in OML 30 block.
14. PANDEF Report:
This group has been recognized by the federal government in handling niger delta issues. Senator chief (Mrs.) Stella Omu, prince Maikpobi and chief felix Ogbaudu AIG (Rtd) will report to the conference the lastest development from Abuja.
15. ABANDONMENT OF NDDC PROJECT IN ISOKO LAND:
The isoko leadership is very disturbed over the abandonment of many NDDC projects, eg, Ellu Multi-purpose Hall/Roads, Uzere-Patani Road, Emevor-Orogun Road, DELSU Workshop Building in Engineering Faculty, Ozoro Township Roads, and over thirty (30) other project in isoko communities
We solicit for the urgent intervention of our isoko sons in government (state and federal) by calling on NDDC to complete the above projects.
On behalf of isoko, I want to express our immense gratitude to Dr.ogaga Ofowodo for work done on Olomoro –Igbide Road, Olomoro town, Unity bank to Mechanic Village, Oleh and maintenance work on Irri-Idheze road. We appeal to NDDC to commence work on all projects awarded in isoko land.
In addition, we request all communities to set up their own project monitoring committees to make the job eaier for IDU.
16. STATE GOVERNMENT PROJECTS:
We wish to appreciate our sons and daughters in government for the follwing; Oleh-Ozoro road, Amawa layout, Irri/Idheze road, Uzere grammar school renovation, Ikpide-Irri township roads, Aviara-Arayr-Okpare-Okpawha road and Owhe-Ologbo-Abbi road.
17. ISOKO YOUTH/ACTIVITIES (OVARAWHA):
They have been in existence from time immemorial. They were involved in activities like sanitation in communities, peace-keeping and supporting elders. Today, the youth movement was supposed to be for agitation for good development and freedom from marginalization of isoko land. But along the line, they derailed. This lost of Focus, led to the bloodshed, arrest, counter arrest, court cases -greed/personal interest, internal crisis, external manipulation of the youths by government officials and struggle for supremacy amongst them. The behaviour of the different factions of the youth has brought tension, mistrust, insecurity of life and property, which is sad, most unfortunate and totally unacceptable and must not be allowed to continue.
The insubordination of the youths to the parents body (IDU) yielded no positive result/did more harm than good thereby not serving any useful purpose, the youths should henceforth operate as an independent body, under the supervision of a team of past isoko youth PGs/leaders to be known as ISOKO YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL.
A team of selected lawyers will prepare a new constitution for them. They will consult with the parent body (I.D.U.) on only major policy statements/issues affecting isoko ethnic nation. Our dream is no usher in a vibrant and united youth body for isoko nation.
18. I.D.U. WOMEN WING:
Sentiments among the women has brought bitterness, disunity, blackmail, campaign of calumny and politicized the women wing. Activities of the wing are carried out without the knowledge and involvement of the mother union.
In addition, almost eight (8) principal officers of the Exco have left. We canot allow animosity amongst them and indiscipline to wreck the group. Consequently, the mother union will soon reconstitute the women wing because they were supposed to have vacated the office since on the 5th of December,2016 when their tenure expired.
19. ISOKO IN NDOKWA EAST:
Our people in Ewho-Okorafor, lagos Iyede, Iyede-Ame, Onogbokor, Umuolu, Awa-Ibrede, etc require a road urgently. Isoko sons in government shouls put pressure on senator Peter Nwaboshi who is the chairman of niger delta committee in order to actualize this for us. (A video chilp showing what our peoples suffer is available) for our isoko media groups to work on.
20. FUNDING OF I.D.U:
This is a critical area that will be discussed and concluded today if IDU must survive. The fifty thousand Naira (N50,000) per clan/branch per year is inadequate for the day-to-day running of the union. For example, we are indebted to our landlord (Emeni Family) to the tune of N3,025,000. Oleh Diocese N4 million and Obuke N1 million and the financial pressure on the Exco is too much.
Delegates should come up with a financial formula for the union’s administration, like other ethnic nationalities. The isoko think tank leadership should take this assignment very seriously.
21. LATE DR.FANCIS ONIEKORO:
He was the former secretary General of the union, an erudite legal scholar, accomplished administrator and devoted community worker. He held the office creditably until his painful demide and because he had earlier lost the wife that same year, an expanded emergency meeting was held on the 3rd of feb., 2017, deliberated on the need for his children to go to school and “The DR.FRANCIS ONIEKORO CHILDREN ENDOEMENT FUND” was floated.
In addition, as a mark of respect for him and his community, it was decided that another personality be nominated from Ofagbe town to replace him pending ratification. The Ofagbe Community has sent Dr.Chris Akpotu as a replacement.
22. ISOKO POLITICIANS/POLICIAL OFFICE HOLDERS:
We appeal to them to be more united and proactive to fight for the general development of isoko nation. Whatever the pary/connection you have, use it for the betterment of your people and monitor all your initiated projects to completion.
23. HERDSMEN MENACE IN ISOKO LAND:
The Fulani herdmen who are from the Northern parts of the country are nomadic in nature.
Thtese groups of people have been very aggressive and have attacked virtually all isoko communities.
They have attacked Ofagbe, Umeh, Ellu, Arafhe, Enhwe and others. The recent blockage of the Ugelli-Asaba express road by Iyede people was as a result of same attack by the herdsmen.
The isoko nation is therefore calling on the state government to come to the aid of the isoko people to avoid further harassment by the herdsmen.
The Isoko community leaders should be vigilant and watchful and report any movement of the herdsmen within their community to the appropriate quarters.
CONCLUSION:
I wish to commend my executive members/patrons of IDU for standing by me at all times in spite of the numerous challenges. “The ultimate measure of a man is not when he finds himself in a moment of comfort and convenience but when he stands at a time of challenges and controversy”.
The isoko people wish to appreciate our son Bar.Ejumejowo who has used his NGO to secure hospital equipment for donation to isoko health centres. We also appreciate the follwing: Sir Ayodele Othihiwa who donated I.D.U. main gate, chief Dan.Akpoili for donating a generator, Damotech Omoyibo who donated twenty (20) ceiling fans and Hon.(chief) Raph Okaruefe who donated a wireless P.A.System.

My thanks also go to Hon. Eta Enahoro and Mr.Daniel Omoyibo who have been very supportive to this administration. May God bless them a hundred fold. The executive is also grateful to PGs and branches for wonderful encouragement, phone calls, etc.
