A Non - governmental organization has donated
medical equipments worth millions of naira to Isoko Nation. The medical
equipments were presented to beneficiary communities at the Isoko Development
unity Hall, Oleh.
Speaking
during the Presentation Ceremony, the donor Barrister Tony Ejumejowo asserted
that, what brought about this medical equipments is the leverage relationship
they have with Med share International, an International Organization based in
the United State of America.
According to
him, “My intention was to get some equipments to my community (Emede), but as
it turns-out they are more than what only one community can use, so i decided
to reach out to the President General of Isoko Development Union on how best
the equipments can be distributed to benefit other communities.”

Barr. Ejumejowo Further stated that, “Society is a place you must contribute to, at a
certain stage in life, you must be concern about the people. Noting that, for
anyone who has the means and opportunity should contribute his or her little quota to the Society.”
He also added
that, as it is, government cannot do it alone that people can leverage on donor
agency and contribute in one way or another as they can.
Ejumejowo
however noted that, he is aware that the other election is approaching in few
months time, stressing that what he has done has no political undertone. “I am
not running for any political office anytime soon, though in 2010 I sort
political office. By the virtue of my business as a lawyer we do relate with
different agencies and this equipments came to my foundation through a donor
(Med share) that does charity work in Africa “
Also speaking
at the presentation ceremony, the President General of Isoko Development Union
(IDU) High Chief Iduh Amadhe said that, the donor of the medical equipments of
which we are gathered today is our dear son, describing him as a philanthropist
and, a man who been fighting for the
development of Isoko land noting that Ejumejowo, has done so many things for
Isoko people that are not known to most of us, but he have been following his
track records, and gave him a name “Isoko patriot” because of his kind gesture.
The Isoko
Development Union PG further said that, sometime ago he call me to say I have
been looking for some equipments to be sent to our hospitals and health centres
and I have gotten some, I don’t want to give them to just my community, but the
entire Isoko Nation.

High Chief
Amadhe also noted that, when the equipments arrive the Isoko Unity hall, we
brought experts to identify those that can be used in the hospital and health
centres, and then we took statistics of communities that have hospital, and
health centres, we told the experts to share them, I called the leaders of
various communities who are beneficiaries to come and carry the medical
equipments that belong to their various communities.
He therefore
thank Barr. Tony Ejumejowo on behalf of Isoko nation for the wonderful job he
has done to up left the Isoko nation.
Meanwhile,
the representative of Isoko South and North Local Government Councils, Barr.
Vote Umukoro, secretary to Isoko North Local Government give Kudos to Barr.
Tony Ejumejowo for the good work, noting that government alone cannot foot the
bill of the people, the only way to move forward is to get well meaning
individuals, NGO’s to assist the government and that is what he has done.
He therefore
appreciate the donor on behalf of the local government chairman, urging other
Isoko people to emulate him.
The President
General of one of the recipient communities, Chief James Obeuwou also said
that, this kind gesture from Barr. Ejumejowo is wonderful; the equipment he saw
here will be of immense benefit to his people.
He also noted
that, what he has done should be an eye opener to Isoko people, those who have
opportunity like this should emulate him.
Also, the
President General of Emede community, comrade Lucky Arumare was highly elated
over the kind gesture of Ejumejowo and noted that the donations were timely and
great. “These medical equipments he brought to Isoko land, we are very happy
about it, others should emulate him”. He said
The recipient
communities are: Oleh General Hospital, Emede Health Centre, Olomoro General
Hospital, Ozoro General Hospital, Ofagbe Health Centre, Uzere Cottage Hospital,
Owhelogbo General Hospital, Iyede Health Centre and Isoko South Primary Health
Centre respectively.
The highlight
of the ceremony was a cultural dance by the IDU coral group.
