This is the 6th time Delta Government will commission NPA bye pass

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC and Secretary-General of Tisun Management Council, TMC in Warri North Local Government Area, Comrade David Odeli has brushed off the planned commissioning of NPA By-Pass in Ekurede-Itsekiri, Warri by Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, saying “this is the 6th time the Delta State Government will be commissioning the same road constructed by the Chief James Ibori administration about 14 years ago”.
Comrade Odeli spoke with newsmen in Warri, Monday April 2 ahead of Governor Okowa’s planned visit to Warri South Local Government Area Tuesday April 3 and Wednesday April 4 to inspect/commission some projects as well as hold Town Hall meeting with key stakeholders in the area.
While describing the planned commissioning of the NPA By-Pass by Dr. Okowa as “pitiable”, Odeli declared, “if Deltans are sincere with themselves, they should know that something is wrong with the PDP led Delta State Government. They continually make budgetary allocations, yet these projects remain poorly executed or incomplete”.
He added, “we have already contacted the EFCC, ICPC, DSS and other relevant agencies of the Federal Government to look into the sharp practices and corruption in Delta Government House, Asaba”.
The APC stalwart who listed Warri City Stadium, Ubeji-Shaguolor Road, Tisun/Kolokolo Road and electrification projects, Ogheye Floating Market and Ebrohimi-Obaghoro Link Road as some key projects that have not been completed by the Delta State Government, despite huge budgetary allocations over the years, absolved President Muhammadu Buhari of blame, insisting allocations to the State from FAAC has continued to rise since Nigeria exited recession and “the State Internally Generated Revenue has been unaccounted for since 2015”.
According to him, the rest of Nigeria no longer take Delta State serious, especially against the backdrop of “the paltry N308 billion approved by the State House of Assembly for 2018 budget, whereas neighbouring oil and gas producing State like Akwa Ibom has reached N1 trillion budget landmark and executing people-driven capital projects”, but “nothing to show for the over N6 trillion so far collected by Delta Government from the federation account since 1999”.
