Amb. Ogheneoro Emiaso, Presidential aspirant on the platform of Young Democratic Party(YDP) has assured Nigerians that he would kick out poverty from Nigeria if elected as President come 2018.
Amb Emiaso gave this assurance at the YDP national headquarters in Abuja while picking the Party's Expression of Interest / Nomination form for Presidential Aspirants .
The Presidential aspirant who spoke to journalists at the premises of the party secretariat in Abuja noted that Nigeria is a consuming nation, promising that if given the presidential mandate, he would create more jobs through Power Generation, Infrastructure and Agricultural Dev. as well as Security to ensure that Nigeria produces what the people consume instead of depending on others nations.
Amb. Emiaso also promised to match-up the country with other developed nations of the world so that Nigerians would be treated with honour, dignity and respect.
Responding to a question, Amb. Emiaso maintained that he was not intimidated by the big names in todays Politics as well as the big parties just as he called on Nigerians to believe and support his vision for the country to bring credibility, fairness and the needed turnaround to move the nation to greater heights.
Earlier, Georgina Aye Dakpkpo, National Chairman, Young Democratic Party (YDP)who was represented by Bolaji Oni, National Secretary of the party while presenting the forms said that the Party is fielding credible and reputable candidates for the 2019 general elections.
According to the party leadership, "these are people with records and without corruption and can live up to the Party's claim of decency as a Political party. The YDP is not moved by the so called big political parties. Our outing in the just concluded Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) Elections, where the National Chairman of the YDP, Georgina Dakpokpo emerged Secretary of the Council in the midst of others is commendable.
Also speaking, Festus Otume,Chairman of the Party,,Delta State, said that the YDP is very popular in the state just as it is present in all the 25 Local governments and actively involved in the politicking in the state..
Otume disclosed that the party is vying for all the elective positions in next year's elections just as he expressed confidence in the Nigeria electorate to vote their conscience in 2019 for people who would bring transformation and the turnaround that they are looking for as that is what the YDP stands for.
Present at the occasion were party members, supporters', friends as well as well wishers including Bolaji Oni, National Secretary, Habib Gajo, National Deputy Secretary, Nkem Nze, National Technical Adviser,Ade Adex, National Treasurer and Festus Ofume, Delta State Chairman, all of the YDP.
