The Isoko Democracy forum
(IDF) has commended the footsteps taken so far by the commissioner representing
Delta state on the board of the Niger-Delta Development commission, Dr. Ifowodo
Ogagaoghene for his courage and patriotism to organize a townhall meeting to
give account of his stewardship of his representation at the NDDC board.
Dr. Ifowodo |
The National secretary of
IDF, Mr. Simeon Okworide stated this while sensitizing groups of Isoko people
at Ikorodu on the need to encourage and assist people with tracks record to vie
for political elective positions so as to bring credibility to governance.
He noted that, from what Dr.
Ifowodo has done through the town hall meeting held at IDU secretariat is a
demonstration of a true leader who is sensitive to the needs of his people,
knowing fully well that leadership is service to the people.
The National Secretary who
was very happy with the step taken so far by Dr Ifowodo, has urged other
political leaders in Isoko to emulate him, so that the Isoko people will feel a
sense of belonging noting that what happened at the town hall meeting gave room
to those who were not aware of NDDC projects going on in Isoko to grasp the
true situations of things as regard to NDDC performance in Isoko.
“I want to say that, what
Ifowodo did during the townhall meeting has demonstrated his calpability to
lead as a leader. If given higher responsibility in the future, he will keep
abreast with the people. Leadership is service to the people and he has
demonstrated that” he said.
