Uduaghan visit flood disaster areas,IDP's camps in Isoko.

Donates food items

The former governor of Delta State Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan recently paid courtesy visit to flood ravaged Uzere community and internal displace persons camp at Emede,Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State,donates food items and sympathize with the victims of the flood.

Speaking to newsmen at the flood  IDP's camp at Emede, former governor of Delta State said that his assessment of the flood situation in Isoko is a serious situation that need urgent attention, saying that 'it reminds me of what happen in 2012 when we have this kind of situation,what I have seen today the situation is quite serious especially in Uzere community '

When asked by newsmen on the techniques he used in managing the flood situation 2012 in Delta State, Dr. Uduaghan said that, I am no longer in government but I have in public place some of the things we did that help us to manage the 2012 flood situation, noting that, 'I hope the people will be able to get one or two things from it and manage the situation properly '

He further reiterate that, although people have different approach to manage situation but there is a common trend to management of every disaster and that common trend will get good result, he stated. 

The former Delta State governor also emphasize that,the reason why I am here today is to draw attention to  let people know that this kind of situation is on ground that need urgent attention and also to sympathize with the flood  victims and do something to alleviate their situation. 

He also pointed out that they cannot leave everything for the government to do, noting that the flood victims need physical,spiritual and moral support,there is need to assist them because it is not easy to be displace from your home and you and expose to mosquitoes and other hazard. 

The Delta South Senatorial hopeful under the platform of the All Progressive Congressl however promise to visit other IDP's camp especially the Ijaw  area where the flood also  displace so many persons  from their home, saying that, 'it is not what I am going to give to them that is important but the psychological and moral support is very essential to them'

He also commended Hon.Joel Onowakpo for for the role he has play to alleviate the situation of the flood victims at Emede IDP's camp.

Food items donated to the flood internal displace persons were; bags of garri, bags of rice, yams and other numerous food items.

The former governor was accompany by the former chairman Board of Internal Revenue who is also Isoko Federal House of Representative hopeful Hon. Joel Onowakpo.
