The Isoko Ladies League International was on Saturday 27th
October 2018 inaugurated at the Isoko Unity House Oleh, Isoko South Local
Government Area, Delta State, were they also used the opportunity to empowered
females fashion designers, as prominent Isoko sons and daughters were given
award for their contribution towards the development of Isoko nation.

Those inaugurated are; Mrs. Evelyn Eloghene Thomas, Lagos
chapter president, Kefe Adedibu, secretary, Lagos chapter, Blessing Jacobs,
treasurer, Lagos chapter, Princess Mrs. Oghale Oweh, Delta Coordinator, Stella
Uzezi Tuoyo, member, Delta ,Mrs. OK Obi Ikpeme, Abuja coordinator amongst
others.
The awardees are; Comrade Ovuzorie Macaulay, Chief Dr. Mrs.
Betty Ubeku, Hon. Itiako Constantine Ikpokpo, Barr. Mrs. Mary Erijo, Hon.
Emmanuel Egbabor, Dr. Paul Oweh, Dr. Okeleke Vincent amongst others.
Speaking at the epoch making ceremony the president of the Isoko
Ladies League International Mrs. Betty Adhokorie stated that the reason the
association was form was because there was no single Isoko women
association in the United Kingdom, noting that before now we used to
attend the one of the urhobo's.

Mrs. Adhokorie also stated that the coming together of the women
to firm this association is not just for parties,saying that, 'we want to be
able to empower and impact the next generation to promote the Isoko culture and
the language.
She also encourage the recipients of the empowerment to work
hard to become independent women,according to her, "to become independent
women doesn't mean you don't respect your husband but to be able to train your
children, growing I witnessed women selling their wrappers to train their
children but with what we have done today for this young females fashion
designers they wouldn't sell their wrappers to train their children in the nearest
future".
The president of the Isoko Ladies League International further
said that "we are still planning to do more especially in the area of
empowerment in the nearest future "

She therefore admonished the Isoko ethnic group to love one
another, love their culture and the language, noting that it is a shame that
most of us when we leave the shore of this country we don't want to associate
with the people of our ethnic group, but we should try and start to do
so.
Also speaking at the event one of the member and recipients of
the award Barr. Mrs. Mary Erijo expressed her joy for the award that was given
to her. "I must confess to you the award given to me was a shocked to me,
being a member I was not expecting to be given an award, but I am humble, excited
and appreciate this group for the award.
She however used the event to call on Isoko women to arise
and take their pride of place in Delta State,Nigeria and internationally.
She also affirmed that,the Isoko nation is moving forward under
the leadership of High Chief Iduh Amadhe, saying that look at where we are
holding this event today unlike how it was before now, definitely Isoko nation
is moving forward.
