The Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Leo
Ogor, has won the Peoples Democratic Party ticket as the flag bearer of the PDP
to contest the Isoko Federal Constituency in the forth coming 2019 general
elections.
The primary election held on the 3rd of October 2018
at Oleh, was supervised by Mr. Chika Ossai as the returning officer was
conducted under a peaceful atmosphere where Hon Leo Ogor polled 206 votes to
beat his closest rival, Mr. Ayodele Othihiwa who polled 80 votes while Dr.
Oghenekaro Okumo polled 4 votes, took 3rd positions. In accordance
to the rules and regulations of the primary elections, 3 votes were voided
while 293 votes were accredited.
In his acceptance speech, Hon Leo Ogor thanked the party
delegates who took part in the exercise for choosing him while he used the medium
to call on his co-contestants to join hands with him to work for PDP’s victory in
the 2019 general elections, noting that his victory is for everyone, no
grudges.
The Reps Minority Leader said, “I am grateful to all our party
members for the demonstration of true spirit of democracy and I salute my
contenders for the spirit of sportsmanship demonstrated. I urge them to join
hands with me to ensure that the PDP works as a family to win the main election
and continue to deliver quality representation to our people. I will continue
to be fair and equitable to all.”
His challengers, Mr Ayodele Othihiwa and Oghenekaro Okumo
congratulated Ogor for his victory noting that the primary election was a free
and fair contest, they assured that all hands will be on deck to propel the
party to victory in the general election.
