To ensure more development and progress for its people, the group, Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (HOSTCOM), Delta state chapter, on Wednesday, June 5, held a prayer session at its secretariat in Effurun, Uvwie council area.
The prayer session which takes place first Wednesday of every other month, is to seek God's mercy, favour and guidance for the group as it pressures government and private institutions to bring succour to oil and gas bearing communities.
The state chairman, Snr. Evangelist Gabriel Isibeluo, alongside HOSTCOM members, executive included, prayed fervently for the Almighty to intervene in both their individual and collective ventures.
The prayers were rounded off by a pastor from Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), who urged them to strive for unity, assuring that a massive breakthrough will soon occur for the group.
Meanwhile, Evang. Isibeluo has responded to the petition of alleged marginalisation and funds misuse against him by the suspended state youth leader, Lawrence Oluku.
The HOSTCOM boss, in a letter dated May 30, through his lawyers, demanded an "immediate retraction" of the petition which they (lawyers) described as "libelous and defamatory," as well as a further tender of "an unreserved apology" to their client.
Reiterating that the controversial youth leader never went through the process of an election, neither was he elected, the letter stated that Evang. Isibeluo is "not accountable to the youths.
"The youths are under the ethnic nationalities chairmen and our client has no direct dealings with them," the letter stated.
