Isoko economic submit group visits ofagbe technical college

----as school management to partners with corporate bodies

The Isoko Economic Submit Group led by its Chairman, Sir Ayodele Oghogho Othihiwa recently paid a fact finding visit to the Delta State government owned Ofagbe Technical College (OTC) as part of its mandate on capacity building drive.
Accompany by Uman team and the President General of Isoko Development Union IDU. Chief Iduh Amadhe, the Chairman and his group did a comprehensive tour of the expansion facilities of the college with the school principal Mr. Ossai Jethro Chukuta on hand to guide the visitors around.
Speaking after the tour the team leader Sir, Othihiwa expressed satisfaction with the quality and quantity of the state of the art equipment and machineries at the workshops and opined that the school can generate funds internally by utilizing the equipment commercially to serve the interest of the public. The Chairman however frowned at the low enrollment level at the college and called for a radical change to address the situation so that the huge investment can be put to maximum use.
The school principal, Ossai Chukuta who is just about a week old in office as at the time of visit, he disclosed that the school was ready to partner with individuals and corporate bodies to increase the school intake to take advantage of the standard facilities available in the school. Mr. Chukuta however, condemned the attitude of some Nigerians who do not believe in vocational education but rather send their children to university where they end up queuing for non-available jobs after graduation. But for those who obtain vocational skills the principal stated, they will not seek employment after graduation because their craft will always be needed by the society at large.
On the fees charged by the school, the principal stressed that OTC do not charged fees, rather, apart from the entry form that cost N2,000 only, it is only the boarding house students that pay N5,000 for their feeding per team.
Reacting after the tour, Chief Iduh Amadhe, the IDU president General also expressed satisfaction with the facilities available in OTC and declared that the IDU has designed a template for 51 youths on scholarship to study various vocation at OCT.

Both the IDU helmsman and the submit group boss expressed their gratitude to the Delta State government for the full reaction to avail themselves of the training facilities at the college to curb unemployment they also called on investors to make Isoko land a place of destination as the area was richly endowed with numerous natural and human resources.
