Okpakpo committee resolves Aviara Regency crisis

-----as all contending parties embraces peace

The 2nd of October, 2017 will remain evergreen in the annals of Aviara kingdom as the day the “Regency” crisis which almost torn the kingdom apart was finally resolved by the Isoko chaplaincy mission under the able chairmanship of chief A.P.J Okpakpo.
Following the peaceful resolution of the Regency crisis, Prince Uzuazoraro Harry Emaviwe was accepted by all contending parties to be installed as the new “Regent” of Aviara kingdom for the next 18 months to pilot the affairs of the kingdom traditional council in line with the constitution of Aviara kingdom.
The Isoko peace mission in conjunction with the office of the secretary to the Delta state government set up Isoko peace mission co.ordinating committee/Aviara “Regency” peace committee to find a lasting solution to the Regency crisis lingering since the demise of the late monarch of the kingdom, His Royal Highness Emaviwe six years ago.

The committee findings revealed that Aviara kingdom has two ruling houses that emerged from a single source known as “The Odoko Royal Family”. The ruling houses are “Ebobo” and “Ojubue” royal familys.
Chief A.P.J Okpakpo while speaking to imirror, he expressed satisfaction over the success recorded by his committee in resolving the “Regency crisis” which almost torn Aviara kingdom apart in the last six years. He also thanked the three contending parties for embracing peace to moved Aviara kingdom forward.
“I am happy that my committee recorded a major break-through in finding a solution to the “Regency crisis” because today all parties involved and entire Aviara kingdom are happy. I want to thanked the office of the secretary to the Delta state government for their partnership in bringing peace to Aviara kingdom,” he said.
