Okowa commissions Delta state library, Oleh

The Governor of Delta State Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa has commissioned the newly built Delta State Library, Oleh by the Martha Charity Foundation, urging the Isoko people to take advantage of the newly built library that is equipped with new books to enhance their reading habit.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony Dr. Okowa appreciated the Martha Charity foundation for the wonderful things they have done for the state, stressing that the foundation had earlier donated about 5 containers of medical equipment to the Delta state Hospital management board. While expressing gratitude to God almighty, he used the medium to appreciate chief Emmanuel Emoefe for his kind gestures, noting that chief Emoefe might not be the richest man in the area, but he loves giving. He also noted that chief Emoefe played prominent role during in his election and his support after election is tremedous. His character is worth emulating
The Delta State Governor further stated that, the structure and the environment itself will attract people to come and read. “I must thank you for being passionate about the government of Delta State and also the development of the Isoko people” he said.
Also speaking at the event the President of the Martha Charity Foundation Chief Emmanuel Emeofe, the Okpugo I of Irri Kingdom noted that, “ Growing up as a child in this place in the 70’s precisely he went to Uro Secondary School, in 1977 and their school bus use to bring them here some Saturdays to study and to borrow books. It was a place then to look forward to come and learn.
According to him, “over the years, I passed through this place. It was obvious that the facilities are dilapidated and shadow of itself, So when Hon. Orezi Esievo came to tell me about the situation of the library, I thought of it, that one thing I must do, is to build this library I also noticed that we cannot over emphasized the power of education and knowledge, this place has become a distraction for our youths whose enterprise today is criminality and violence as we all see all over Nigeria, now they have a good excuse to come here to read and borrow books and become better people to the society,” he said.
Meanwhile, the member representing Isoko South Constituency I and the administrator of Martha Charity Foundation asserted that Governor Okowa has been generous to Isoko South, that within a short period he has done a lot of things for the Isoko people.
According to her, “I want to mention the things the governor have done, so that people can appreciate him, construction of Ibrahim Kefas Road, Amawa Layout Road, Old Oleh-Ozoro Road, thank God we can pass through it during the day and at night in safety, the law complex and the accreditation of the law faculty, Delsu and the Idheze bypass road and the Ikpide-Irri internal road that he has just approved”, She noted.
Hon. Esievo also stated that the Library project is the only library resident in her constituency, so when she came in she took it as her priority and ran to the Chairman of the Martha Charity Foundation and appealed to him why he must take over the project and the result is the new library equipped with books for the Isoko people.
She further disclosed that, the library was built at the cost of 32 million naira, which includes the furniture, 2 study halls, one study hall at the back for primary school children and the main study hall for universities and secondary students. It also has books in the following discipline: Mathematics, English, Geometrics, Sciences and Aeronautics Engineering e.t.c
