Eregare about to make history as groups endorses him

By Simeon Okworide

The flag bearer of the labour party contesting Ethiope Federal constituency for House of Representatives, Chief Robinson Eregare is about to make history as more groups has come out in enmass to endorse him based on his track records
The groups which consists mainly the youths has resolved to vote for him, not minding political parties, stressing that their vote would be based on individuals impeccable characters that can deliver goods and services, noting that having seen Eregare with such traits with the excellent and quality leadership demonstrated during his days in the police force where he won the best “commander” during his peace mission to Sudan and best Divisional police officer (DPO) of Lagos state for five (5) consecutive times is a testimony to the fact, that, If given higher responsibility he (Eregare) will perform to the satisfaction of the people.
The youth’s groups therefore resolved that a man like Eregare with such intimidating credentials of performance should be given the opportunity to showcase his wealth of experience so as to bring development to Ethiope Federal Constituency.

Chief Joel Okrikoko who addressed the press after the endorsement of Eregare, he appealed to all and Sundry, especially the youths to change the narrative this time by voting for Chief Robinson Eregare because his credentials of performances in the police and at his home town is enough testimony to show that, if voted in, he will not disappoint the people, especially the youths and concluded by saying that a vote for Eregare is a vote for God choice.

Isoko will unite to remove Ogor -Says Prince Anthony Ovrawah

By Kelvin Ohoror

The chairman of Election beyond Party Lines who is also a PDP chieftain Prince Anthony Ovrawah has stated that Isoko nation will unite to remove Hon. Leo Ogor from office.
This was contained in a press statement released and signed by him.

According to him Hon. Leo Ogor recent statement regarding constituency delineation of Isoko is not only a selfish and greedy politician whose occupancy of the position beyond a single tenure should be seen as an insult to the well-meaning people of Isoko nation.

Prince Ovrawah also noted that, Hon. Leo Ogor insensitive statement has ignited a new chapter in the history of Isoko nation, noting that, never again shall we make the mistake where an overstaying tenant assumes ownership of a leased property.
The time to finally send him out of politics is now or never. The choice of words used in the video currently in circulation is not only divisive but infuriating to any sane mind with the faintest or vaguest understanding of what constitutes Isoko South or North.

He further reiterated that, the incumbent House of Reps member politically reckless statement in an unsurprising video to the applause of his minions and 'yes men'' saying that, the statement has stirred the hornets nests and they shall proceed with reeling out facts and figures to not only set the record straight but to drive home some salient points into the mind of Hon. Leo Ogor and his band of praise singers.

Prince Ovrawah discloses that, what can be understood from the statement made by Hon. Leo Ogor, that the battle for the representative seat 2019 is between Isoko North and South is quite obvious that the devil has finally pushed him to make this statement which undoubtedly has cleared the doubts of most Isoko South people on his true intentions over the years.

The PDP Chieftain emphasized that, the population of Isoko South according to the substantial official figures available surpasses that of Isoko North, by almost a hundred thousand. The only local government with higher population than Isoko South in the entire Delta State is Warri South and Ughelli North, noting that the popularity contests so envisaged by Hon. Leo Ogor and his cohorts is s welcome contests and it shall gladly seal his fate at the polls in February 2019.

He noted that, Hon. Leo Ogor is being economical with the truth by stating that Isoko North has two Constituencies. This statement is not only false, but senseless when juxtaposed with the familiar truth as regards the current composition of Constituencies in Isoko nation, saying that, let's ask Hon. Leo Ogor a very easy and simple question, who is the current member representing Isoko North Constituency 2?.
Such seat do not exist anywhere in the State or in the universe, such creation was formed in the fable world of the legislator to distort facts in order to confuse the undiscerning minds.

Prince Ovrawah also narrated that, this is the first time that true election for the Isoko Federal Constituency seat will take place since 2003 that he has emerged via 'living room politics 'of Isoko. Subsequent election saw the tactics of fielding a decoy opposition by his party for other parties to create a staged election where results are skewed in his favour without any visible challenge by the losing party after such cowardly conceived results are announced.

He further said that, 2019 election is impossible for the incumbent legislator hence he is running from pillar to post to ensure he hold on to the same position after 16 years without aspirations to further higher position of responsibility as it has been done by countless colleagues of his who are now state Governors and Senators respectively.

To the good people of Isoko nation, make no mistake as to the vision of the incorruptible group -Election beyond Party Lines. According to him, our mission is to displace impunity of imposition of candidates and replacing such injurious system with justice, fairness and equity whereby every individual is free to seek and aspire to any offices whatsoever during election without fear of the power of some overstaying incumbents influencing electoral results through their cronies and accomplices as has been the case of Isoko Federal Constituency and Delta South Senatorial District respectively, saying that, they shall completely overcome the recurring results thrown at them by these greedy  helmsmen at the polls in due course.

The chairman of the group also advocate for a peaceful free and fair election. "A peaceful free and fair election is what I presumably believe we would all seek to ensure a smooth and rancor free atmosphere in electing in electing the choice of the people for the Isoko Federal House of Reps seat in 2019".

He further emphasizes that, "We are not averse to such free and fair election. But, in the event of alternative to a peaceful conduct of affairs during the election day, it shall be a walk in the park for the good people of Isoko nation against her adversaries on that da6as monopolies over such alternatives to exist post 2015.We are ready to test our might of the PVC and whatever alternatives as suggested by the opposition as against the will of the Isoko People"

Corruption: EFCC files fraud charges against Babachir, Oke, wife

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has filed fraud charges against the immediate-past Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; a former Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ayodele Oke, and his wife, Mrs. Folashade Oke.
The PUNCH gathered that the anti-graft agency on Wednesday filed 10 counts against Lawal and five others, including his company, Rholavision Engieneering Ltd, before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja.
It filed four counts against Oke and his wife, Folashade, before the Federal High Court, in Lagos.
President Muhammadu Buhari had, in October 2017, sacked Lawal and Oke following a report of investigations by a panel headed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, into allegations of fraud leveled against them.
The charges against the duo are coming over 15 months after they were sanctioned by the President.

Hate Speech: NBC Sanctions NTA, AIT, Channels, TVC

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has sanctioned four major television stations in the country over hate speech.
The Nigerian Television Authority

(NTA), African Independent Television (AIT), Channels TV and Television Continental (TVC) were sanctioned for allowing hate speeches by politicians from both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the main opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to be aired on their networks, the Director General of NBC, Malam Is’haq Modibbo Kawu said during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday.
Malam Modibbo Kawu, who didn’t mention what sanctions against the media houses were, said the letters to the affected organisations notifying them about the sanction were awaiting delivery in his office.
He said the four stations failed to shut out chieftains of both parties who willfully engaged in hate speeches during their political campaigns.
He said: ‘’Broadcasters have huge responsibility of protecting and guiding our democracy; and we have a very huge responsibility of ensuring that we don’t promote violence or anything that can lead to it.
“We have discovered that despite our repeated warnings some broadcast stations still allow politicians to let out hate speeches which are capable of throwing this country into crisis.
“We have prepared sanctions and the letters to this effect will be delivered to them soonest. These broadcast stations include NTA, AIT, Channels, TVC and some other radio stations.’’
He advised media houses against allowing themselves to be used by politicians, warning that this would affect their credibility.
On digital switchover, he said the process was still on course and had not been stalled as claimed by some people.
He said a new timeline of next 15 months as a completion period had been set.
Within the period, he said, the NBC would take the digital switch-over to about 60 million Nigerians across the country.

EEU campaign trail Isoko …as Uduaghan consults, and he`s endorsed by Isoko nation and IDU leadership

Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, the immediate past Governor of Delta State and APC Senatorial Candidate, Delta South Senatorial District, today formally consulted with Isoko nation and leadership of Isoko Development Union (IDU), seeking support for his candidacy.

Chief Lucky Esigie, Isoko Nation APC Leader while presenting Uduaghan, stated, " we are here to present a candidate that reflects the wishes and aspirations of the constituents of Delta South for equity and capacity to perform and take the Senatorial District to the next level, considering his towering pedigree as a former Governor of the oil rich, yet highly marginalised".

Uduaghan in his own speech acknowledged with gratitude, " the warm reception of Isoko nation and people as reflected by the huge number of persons, present at the consultative visit. I am also gratified with the quality of well structured leadership and achievements of the current IDU board".

He further  stated that his aspiration and candidature premised on an issues based campaign, was timely, "as his wealth of experience as a former Chief Executive of Delta State exposed him to first hand knowledge of the challenges facing the oil District, which he promised to tackle if elected Senator via his championing bills; first in having community ownership of shares in oil companies, changing security architecture to community based contracts for securing oil facilities and pipelines, regular dialogue/town hall meeting as a feedback mechanism for getting inputs and desired bill formulation and right legislation".

Uduaghan further promised proposing a bill for transforming illegal bunkering and refining of petroleum products into a legal and rightful business that will provide jobs for our teeming unemployed youths, and also formulation of laws to enhance environment protection and sustainable development of the oil rich Delta South Senatorial District through the right bills.

Chief Iduh Amaidhe, President General of Isoko Development Union (IDU), in his own response, stated that from Uduaghan's well articulated speech, all Isoko people who were already convinced about his political pedigree were left without an iota of doubt that he will make provide effective and results oriented representation as the next Senator. "We therefore wish to assure you of the unalloyed prayers and support of the Isoko ethnic group in ensuring that you get elected as their Senator come February 16".

Amaidhe enjoined Uduaghan to ensure that Isoko's social, political and economic development interests were protected, urging him to, " radically help the Isokos address the challenges of posed by increase in revenue accruing to the area from OML 30 oil prospecting and also the conversion of gas flares to boost chaotic nature of electricity supply in the area".

Uduaghan was later prayed for on behalf of Isoko nation for success and victory at the forthcoming polls".

Couple flee as ritual money turns into two big snakes

A couple at Kotokrom, a community in the Sunyani Municipality on Wednesday fled for their lives when they realised a bag they had brought from a spiritualist for ritual money contained two big live snakes.

The snakes which the couple said were unknowingly in a suitcase in their bedroom for about five days had been killed and burnt by a Pastor they fled to for prayers to save their lives at Kotokrom.

Reverend Isaac Hinneh, the local head Pastor of Living Grace Ministries confirmed to the press in an interview in Sunyani but the names of the couple was not disclosed for security reason.

He said the couple approached him that they went to a spiritualist at Wenchi in the Brong-Ahafo Region for financial assistant and were giving a suitcase supposed to be containing money.

Rev. Hinneh said the spiritualist asked the couple to wake up at midnight to perform some rituals with “some hair” in a paper offered to them before they would open the bag for the money but the hair vanished, so they became afraid.

According to the Pastor, the couple with the suitcase came to his house the following morning and narrated the matter to him.

Rev. Hinneh said he told them to bring the bag to a watch night prayer session and invited two of his colleague Pastors from Chiraa in the Sunyani West District and Tanoso in the Tano North Municipality, also in the Region for prayer support.

He said after praying over the bag they opened it but found two big live snakes in it, adding that the couple immediately fled, leaving the bag and the Pastors to their fate.

Rev. Hinneh said the incident attracted people living around the area to scene, surrounding the church building in their numbers, adding that they therefore killed and burnt the animals.

He advised the general public to depend on the almighty God always for their sources of power and money because spiritualists could only deceive people but did not have anything good to offer humankind.

Confusion in Imo as Buhari throws support for APC, AA guber candidates open

President Mohammadu Buhari at last broke his silence on the lingering crisis in Imo State bordering on who he would support for governorship ahead of the forthcoming election in the state between the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hope Uzodinma and the Action Alliance (AA) party of governor Okorocha’s son-in-law, Uche Nwosu.
National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomole, while addressing the mammoth crowd of supporters of APC and AA at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, had dismissed alliance of his party with any political party in the state.
However, President Buhari told the crowd: “Forget intra-political struggles, Imo should vote any candidate they like; choose whoever you want to vote for.”
Meanwhile, the president has admitted that out of all his three cardinal campaign promises in 2015, corruption seemed the most difficult to overcome.
The president who was addressing the Imo State monarchs at their secretariat in Owerri when he paid a courtesy call on the state chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Samuel Ohiri, noted that his administration had made significant improvement in security, especially with regard to the fight against Boko Haram, but had to contend with the fight against corruption.
However, he stated that his administration would not relent until the fight was completely won.
While lauding his administration effort to tackle the Boko Haram insurgency, he expressed satisfaction that the fight against insurgency which he said was rampant in 17 Local Government Areas in the North East.
Earlier, Governor Okorocha corroborated the promise of the Chairman of Traditional Rulers Council, Ohiri, who spoke on the readiness of the monarchs in the state to support the president’s re-election bid.

Prominent persons on the president’s campaign train to Imo were former Senate President, Ken Nnamani; Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige; Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ugochukwu Onyema and former governor of old Abia State, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu.

Actress is beaten beyond recognition by her boyfriend for kissing in a play

A South African actress is recovering in the hospital after she was beaten beyond recognition by her boyfriend after she kissed an actor in a stage play.
The incident reportedly occurred at the weekend after 30-year-old Londiwe Ngcamu featured in a theatre production Seven Days War, set in the 1980s.
She was said to have played the lead role of an IFP woman who fell in love with an ANC member at the Winston Churchill Theatre.
After the show ended at around 10pm on Saturday, the mother of a two-month-old baby girl and a six-year-old boy met her boyfriend at the bus stop and walked home with him.
When they got home, they got involved in an argument before the man attacked her. He banged her head on the ground and used his knee and fists to hit her face as she begged for her life.
Speaking to The Witness from her hospital bed on Monday afternoon, Ngcamu, from Sobantu, said:  “We had just come back from the theatre after our performance and I was chilling with my cast members at the clubhouse in Sobantu, where some of our cast members who live far away stay during shows.
“At around 10.30 pm I got a call from home informing me that my baby was restless, so I had to rush home,” she said.
Ngcamu said a man known to her, who cannot be identified by The Witness at this time, had called her and offered to walk her home.
She decided to walk alone for some of the distance intending to meet the man halfway, but when they met on the road an altercation broke out between them and the man then dragged Ngcamu to his home where he beat her severely.
“When we got to his home the gate was closed and he pushed me onto the gate to open it.
“One of his friends and [that man’s] girlfriend were there but they did nothing to help me.
“They saw him beating me up but stood and watched for a while before they left.
“When we got to his room he threw me on the floor and started beating me. He banged my head on the ground and used his fists and knee to hit my face. He even used the small suitcase I had with me to hit me on my face.”
Ngcamu said at some point the man started punching her and kicking her in the ribs, telling her that he wanted to break them.
“I was so scared and kept on begging him not to kill me, but he kept on going. It went on for hours.
“When he got exhausted he would lie down on his bed to rest and gather his strength, then start beating me all over again.”
The woman said at some point she realised that he had a knife and she tried to grab it.
“I can’t remember what happened to the knife but I have a huge cut on my palm and I think it was from when I grabbed the knife.
“He then pulled out an axe and asked me if I would prefer that he used the axe to slit my throat or to cut off my fingers. I thought he was going to kill me. I kept on praying, asking God to spare my life.”
She managed to grab the axe and threw it under his bed.
“While beating me up, he was shouting to one of his relatives who was in another outside building that he must help him dig my grave because he was going to kill me,” said the still visibly shaken Ngcamu.
She also added that she made her escape from his house after he went to bed, and rushed to her siblings who took her to the hospital and reported the case to the police.

Confirming the incident, police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala, said a case of assault has been opened at the Mountain Rise police station.

Regina Chukwu: I used to sell wares by road side… now i live a better life

Regina Chukwu is an actress, producer and director who has made her mark in the movie industry, shooting and taking part in many major movies. With 12 movies and counting, to her credit, she is hungry for more. She tells Tosin Cleggabout her journey, motherhood, her career in the different sectors of the industry and much more

Regina the Lagos girl
I was born in Lagos and grew up in Lagos in Alimosho. I attended Alimosho Primary and Grammar Schools then later went to Lagos State Polytechnic (Laspotech). I think right now, I am living my dream, as a kid of being an actress and see myself on TV. I watched a lot of TV programmes when I was younger and I admired people on my TV screen. So, I think am living my dream now.

I’m a Nigerian first before being Igbo
I was born and live among the Yorubas in Lagos. Yoruba is a language I understand very well and I think I speak Yoruba more than my language. Going into the movie industry, I wanted to go into the English side but Yoruba movies affected me and they were welcoming and made me feel at home. So, I started off with them.

I have always loved acting
But the person that showed me the right steps to take was this young guy that lived in my area in those days. He would say ‘Aunty Regina I like your face o and if you act you would make it’.  Then I was like I would love to act but for now, I don’t have time for that, as things were not too okay for me then and I was like not now. But he comes every other day to disturb me where I was selling to tell me to let him introduce me to somebody who would be my mentor in the industry. Then one day I decided to go with him and that was how it started. I joined the guy’s circle and stayed with him for a year or two then I moved to Kunle Afod circle. I understudied him for a few years and did my first movie. That was it and the rest they say is history.

Earlier challenges
When I came to the industry, I thought it was going to be easy and that I would just come and there would be rules and that’s just it. But it wasn’t easy, as it was difficult and roles weren’t coming, nothing was happening and nobody believed in anybody as they didn’t believe in wasting their time on who they are not sure of. So, the first one was the fact that it was difficult for me to get roles, so I had to become a makeup artiste on set and with that, I became acquainted with so many people and when I go to production and probably they need extra cast I would be able to take a role.
Later on, I shot my own movie and became the lead cast, and that was it. I produced myself and it was called ‘Ogunso’ and everyone was like who is this new girl and all that. After Ogunso, I shot another one, Idaro and everyone started getting accustomed to me. Then the biggest of them all came, which was ‘Akun’ where I played a stubborn character.
It was the movie that brought me to the limelight and paved way for me. It’s a nice movie and people still make reference to it, such as ‘that grandma daughter, that girl that played a secondary school girl in the movie and she is even Igbo’ and all.
I have produced about 12 movies and the first actors I was opportune to work with in my early days were Antar Laniyan, Toyin Adewale, Baba T, Liz Dasilva, Funke Akindele, Iyabo Ojo and more, as I have worked with so many producers and actors.

My kids are everything to me
I have a boy and a girl and they are no longer kids though. They are teenagers and the challenge is that I have been the only one catering for them since we lost their father. And it’s not been easy and it’s been 15 years since their father died and it was a painful phase taking care of them. I’ve been their mother and father, doing so many things that ought to be done by their father. As a young widow in the society, I bless God and the kind of children He blessed me with. They are the kind of children that would understand if we don’t have one or two things, and they manage with me. We have been blessed with good health and love around us so I just thank God.

Talking about successes
Looking back at the journey and where I started from and where I am today, it’s a success story for me. So many people we started the journey together have abandoned this profession, but I’m still here and relevant. That’s a success story for me, as I have produced about 12 movies. Also, I basically raised my kids with this work and it’s a success story for me. My life is a success story, and even my kids are going to university. So many things represent my success story, as I have come a long way.

My ongoing projects
I have shot some movies that hopefully would get to the cinema, and I am still hoping to shoot more this New Year and I pray to God to help me to finish them. And I have a movie titled, ‘Encounter’ and that’s one of the biggest movies I have shot so far. So I’m hoping it goes to the cinema this year.

Life has taught me that whatever will be, will be
Sometimes you look at yourself and feel you are probably losing something or somebody else is getting something or what’s wrong with me? Or is there something I’m not doing right or are other people having this and am not? But I believe when it’s your time, it would come, as everybody has their own special time to be celebrated. Just keep pushing and doing that thing you love to do best.

I deal with fame pretty fine
And fame hasn’t cost me anything I do normally. I’m a free person and I still do the things I used to do, except the fact that I used to sell wares beside the road, and now I live a better life. When I’m off the set I’m still Regina and if being a celebrity has done anything for me, it’s to be a better me.

I like business
And I would love to do buying and selling. I like it so much more and, asides from that, it’s acting and everything that has to do with filming. For my hobbies, I like travelling and seeing beautiful places and watching movies a lot. I like Korean movies and staying indoors enjoying my space. The happiest you see me is when I’m in front of the camera and I like going to locations.

I see myself where God wants to place me
I see myself as a better person, as the plan of God for me is a better one. I know where he wants to place me is better.

How popular businessman was arrested with human parts

A businessman, Supo Bamidele, and his herbalist, Amos Suleiman have been caught with human skull and palm, which they planned in utilising for money ritual in Osun State, Daily Trust reports. The duo was arrested by officers of the Osun State Police Command.Bamidele told the police that the herbalist, Amos, asked him to bring a human head and two palms to help him carry out money ritual but Amos denied the claim by the businessman.
Bamidele said he dug a grave at a cemetery in Ifon community and cut the head and palms of a corpse there. He explained that some policemen caught him with the human parts on his way to the house of the herbalist where he was taking the skull and the palms to.The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Fimihan Adeoye, said the suspects are callous and cruel human beings, saying “they would not go unpunished.”.
Conversations around money rituals and yahoo-yahoo have been rife over the past few days with arguments on how best to shelve the killings. The slimy narration of the gruesome murder of Elozino Joshualia Ogege by yahoo ritualists has not helped matters. It seems like these yahoo boy-ritualists are in a phantom global competition to outdo themselves in a game of gruesome activities.
In more infamous trend of the recent virality by these belligerents of ‘Money Must Be Made Progressive Union’, grown men are now obsessed with female panties with different instances of women panties theft. The ‘problem’ didn’t however start today. They’ve always been around and have always been popular. Nigeria is a country rooted in traditional practices.
As such, idol worship is a religion on its own, just like Christianity or Islam. While Christians and Muslims pray to God or Allah to create wealth for them in the hustles, idol worshippers also have deities and gods they pray to and appease.
The ‘tested’ belief is that there are metaphysical keys to this world and if you can access them or know how to control these quantum elements and you appease the right gods, and spirits, you will be granted limitless wealth.
A cursory look through the depths of Ifa, the many facets to its practice and the Ifa Corpus like ‘Oju Odu Merindinlogun’ or ‘The 16 Corpus of Ifa’ could convince you on the various facets to the world. There’s a natural element to everything preached in that doctrine, affected by what they see under Oju Odu verses of ‘Eji Ogbe’ or ‘Obara Meji’ or ‘Odi Meji.’
Nonetheless, Ifa people are famed for being pure and true. But just like they can appease the gods and spirits the transcend the physical and our different versions of God, there are bad people who also have their own spiritual beliefs. If there is a good, there is a bad. Sometimes, there is no good and there is still a bad element. These fundamentals are ingrained, not just in Nigerian culture. Scattered parts of foreign cultures across Africa also believe in witch-doctors and herbalists who can appease gods.

DRAMA as Mountain of Fire Pastor and 3 children in trouble over death of retired DSP’s death

Unfortunately for a Pastor with the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry, his wife and 3 children have been dragged to court along over the death of retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, Joseph Idehen.
For their alleged involvement in the death of a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, Joseph Idehen, the police have arraigned a pastor with the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry, Taiwo Idehen, and her three children, Punch Metro reports.
Taiwo and her children, Samuel, Michael and Ruth, were arraigned by the Force Criminal and Intelligence Department on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, murder, stealing, use of false documents and forgery. They pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The police alleged that the defendants committed the offences at the deceased’s residence at No. 5 Odetola Street, off Merit Road, Alagbado, Lagos, on July 4, 2016.
According to the police, Taiwo, who was said to have divorced the deceased over 29 years ago, and her three children, allegedly conspired among themselves to murder the retired senior police officer in suspicious circumstances.
They were also alleged to have forged a death certificate from the Ota General Hospital, Ogun State, which was used in conveying the deceased’s corpse to Aragba in Delta State.
It was gathered that Michael allegedly withdrew the sum of N286,000 from the deceased’s account domiciled in First Bank of Nigeria Limited, while all the defendants were accused of fraudulently withdrawing the sum of N2.1m from Joseph’s account domiciled in Zenith Bank Plc.
According to the police prosecutor, Morufu Animashaun, the offences are contrary to sections 233, 365 (3) (d), 366 and 287 (5) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
Animashaun told the court that the defendants’ arrest was predicated on a petition dated August 2016, written to the police by the Chambers of Milestone Partners, wherein the alleged role played by each of the defendants in the death of the retired police officer was stated. He added that upon receiving the petition, the defendants were invited for interrogation and they all wrote confessional statements.
In view of their not guilty plea, Animashaun urged the court to remand them in prison custody pending the conclusion of the matter. The defendants’ lawyer, Kennedy Osunwa, told the court that he had filed his clients’ bail applications, which had been served on the prosecutor.

Following the applications of the defendants’ lawyer, the presiding judge, Justice Adedayo Akintoye, adjourned the matter till January 25, 2019, for the hearing of their bail application. She also ordered that all the defendants be remanded in prison custody pending the hearing and determination of their bail applications.

How does he feed them?, new acting CJN Tanko who has 32 children – Omokri

Since the announcement of the swearing-In, of a new acting chief justice, Ibrahim Tanko by President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, Nigerians haven’t stopped talking.
The president had sworn in a new acting chief justice, suspending Walter Onnoghen, to the anger of many Nigerians.
However Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex President Goodluck Jonathan has continued to criticise the decision, calling Tanko a usurper. In his latest statement via his Twitter account, Omokri says Tanko has 32 children, anf how he has managed to feed all of them, with his Judge’s salary leaves a lot to wonder about.

Let me shock Nigerians. Justice Tanko, who Muhammadu Buhari, the so called anti corruption advocate, swore in, has 32 kids and a reputation I won’t even bother stating here. How has Tanko been feeding and caring for his 32 children on a judge’s salary? It is a MIRACLE! #TankoIsaUsurper
