Delta South: APC, PDP candidates are not selling good music- Omatseye Brushes aside ethnicity, political parties’ factors

By Ossai  Rita

Action Democratic Party, ADP Candidate for Delta South in the February
16 Presidential/ National Assembly elections, Barr. Temisan Omatseye
says his chances are very bright, adding that candidates of the PDP,
Senator James Manager and APC, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan are "not selling
good music", in the build-up to the polls.

While stating that All Progressive Congress, APC is "yet to recover
from the manipulative process” of Delta South Senatorial Primary that
schemed him and other aspirants out, Barr. Omatseye stressed that his
"candidacy is not out of desperation" and averred that his strength is
"more in Isoko and Ijaw areas", as he consolidates in Itsekiri axis.

The Senatorial Contender who spoke to select- newsmen in Warri, Delta
State, Thursday January 10, emphasized that when he took his campaign
to Patani and Isoko communities Wednesday January 9, they didn't talk
about ethnicity and "we are no longer looking at the issue of parties
(political) but individuals".

Omatseye who noted that he is the only Senatorial Candidate in Delta
South that has five canvassers in every unit that makes up the
district, promised to push forward a bill for the establishment of
Coast Guard in the Niger Delta if elected as Senator.

He stressed the need to diversify the current logistics problem faced
in "our ports" and expressed optimism that the Benin River Port being
built by Godwin Obaseki led Edo State Government will impact
positively on Delta South, because of its closeness to Eghoro in Warri
North Local Government Area.
